Nutrition and Supplements, simplified.

Top 7 Sports Nutrition Myths: The sports nutrition landscape is constantly changing and with it comes exciting new breakthroughs for fueling endurance athletes, developing speed and power, accelerating weight loss and more. This lecture will discuss old dogmas and highlight new ways to help your clients and patients achieve their health, performance, and weight loss goals.

Clinical Pearls in the Neurological, Immune and Hormonal Effects of Exercise: This lecture will highlight the key physiological effects of exercise relating to the neurological, immune and endocrine systems. The strategic use of exercise and nutrition will be discussed to help the practitioner clinically support their patients on the metabolic and neurological level. Nutritional strategies to augment the effects of exercise such as stimulating the nitric oxide systems, supporting blood sugar control and encouraging healthy brain function will be covered.

Lean Mass, Weight Loss and Intermittent Fasting: In recent years, intermittent fasting (IF) has been gaining immense popularity. Dr Bubbs will cover the physiological effects of IF, types of clients that may benefit from its use and specific protocols for achieving weight loss goals. Common roadblocks to success and inappropriate circumstances for IF will also be discussed. Understanding these fundamentals will allow you to correctly apply IF with clients, improve their health, and help them overcome weight loss plateaus.

Nutrition, Supplementation and Hormonal Balance for High Performance Athletes: This lecture will tie together key nutritional and supplemental principles in order to take athletic performance to the next level. Dr Viinberg will draw on her extensive experience as a naturopathic doctor and Olympic silver medalist to discuss common deficiencies in athletes, the female-athlete triad, hormonal imbalances and evidence based supplementation. Cutting Edge Sports Supplements and Functional foods to boost Performance: This lecture will dive into the latest research and clinical application of nutrition, functional foods, and cutting edge supplements that promote recovery and increase athletic performance. A subsection on myth vs. fact will also be discussed. This discussion will expand on the opening lecture and include topics such as “Can you boost your testosterone naturally?” and “Can amino acids boost growth hormone?”

Expert panel, Clinical pearls and Case Analysis: This section is designed for EBN speakers to share their clinical experiences and cases. Attendees will be able to ask questions during the panel discussion and, ultimately, the integration of sports nutrition into practice will be addressed. This session is a crowd favorite and is packed with clinical pearls and immediate application.
