SPECIFIC SCHOOL IN ARTS

• 60% national curriculum• 40% optional courses• 3 years (7º, 8º & 9º) >>30 lessons hours

per week minimun >> normaly 38– 7º >> 1 optional hour/week– 8º >> 7optional hours/week 13 hours/– 9º >> 5 otional hours/week 3 years

SPECIFIC CURRICULUM

• Pupils choose the course andin function of that, teachersdecide how to organize thetimetable and the curriculum(courses, teachers,…)

• OPTIONAL COURSES:– English– German– French– Spanish– ICT (Information, Comunication&Technology)– Home Economics– Arts– Agriculture– Music– Textil– Animation– Cinema Courses

THE PUPILS• 205 pupils in 7º• 204 pupils in 8º• 224 pupils in 9º• About ½ of them comes

from the surroundings– 3 school buses– 5 kms

• 4 foreign pupil– They have a specific class

about Finnish Culture– The school agrees a

specific teacher for that

Educate citizens who take care ofthemselves to be capable to incrementtheir own lifes

HOW THEY WORK (I)COLABORATION

– Between schools• TAMPERE >> DISTRICT SYSTEM

(5districts with12 schools each one =4000 pupils)

• Once per month principals of eachschool meet

• Teachers Education >> 500 teachers>>66 work groups (courses,conferences, talks, different activities,…)

– Between teachers and parents• 1 meeting per year (information about

the academic year)• Regulary Parents Night• Blogs to keep the contact• Class attending control ( parents have to

justify the absenteism)

method (different pupils,differents methods)

• Psychological projects(2 Psychologists/school)

EVALUATION OF THESTUDENTS: MARKS

• KNOWLEDGE:– It depends of the subject (differents kinds of exams: multiple

choice, open questions,…)– The difficulty is getting higher each grade

• The mark is not only based on the exams, a big part of itis WORK IN CLASS
