Innovative Solutions for the Coke Gas Industry

Compression Solutions

Coal is the fossil energy source which will be available to us for the greatest length of time. Coal is still of major economic significance: besides its use as a source of energy, it is also carbonized to produce coke, which is pri-marily used as a reducing agent in metal extraction. The resulting gases can be used as a highly valuable source of energy. This not only results in economic advantages but also reduces industrial CO2 emissions.

Principle uses During the coke-making process a large amount of crude coke oven gas is produced. In the coke oven gas treatment plant the crude gas is processed to form clean fuel gas by means of cooling, filtration and the extraction of valuable products. The extracted by-products crude tar, crude ben-zene, sulfur and ammonia are refined further and used primarily in the chemical industry.

Core competence Siemens has been manufacturing coke gas exhausters since 1902. As a technology leader, Siemens sets the stan-dards for coke gas exhausters in terms of efficiency, reli-ability and sturdy design. Siemens’ products form an inte-gral part of today’s industrial coke gas technology. Numerous reference projects and professional recommen-dations underscore the extensive market coverage of Sie-mens coke gas exhausters.

Solutions The typical operating conditions at coke oven plants, in-volving toxic and hazardous gases with adhesive content, for example, place high demands on main blower engi-neering. Siemens’ efficient concept meets all require-ments in full thanks to sturdy design, heavy-duty rotor and special bearing support system. Thus we ensure opti-mum performance and substantial energy savings.

STC-SOL (5.6) 25.000 - 30.000

STC-SOL (6.3) 30.000 - 40.000

STC-SOL (7.1) 40.000 - 63.000

STC-SOL (9) 63.000 - 100.000

STC-SOL (11) 100.000 - 155.000

STC-SOL (14) 155.000 - 190.000

Compressor size / Flow rate correlation (product overview)

The restructuring of the product range reduces the neces-sary sizes from STC-SOL 7.1 to STC-SOL 11 and at the same time increases efficiency. The variable opening ratio ensures even finer adjustments in addition to individual machine configurations. The modernized concept com-bines the proven technology of the existing predesigned turbo-compressor product range with innovative design.
