Overview The AcuSport® Retail Technology Group (RTG) provides
this document as guide to checking system settings on a machines
running the AXIS RMS software.

Checking System Settings
Device Manager
1. From the Windows 10/7 operating system.
2. Left-click the Windows logo in the lower left of the screen
or select Start from bottom
left task bar.
3. Select Control Panel as shown.
4. If you see the screen below set to Category View
5. Select the drop down on the right-hand side and change to
small or large icons.
6. Locate and select Device Manager
► Note: Leave Control Panel Open as you will use it later

Write Caching
1. In Device Manager
2. Expand Disk Drives.
3. On the Disk Drive right-click and select Properties
4. On the tab select Policies and Uncheck Enable write caching
on the device
5. Click on OK.

Power Management
1. Expand Network adapters,
2. Select the network card,
a. Right-click on it and select properties.
b. Select Power Management tab
c. Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save
power
d. click OK.
3. Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers
4. Right-click each Generic USB Hub and Root Hub
5. Select Properties.
6. Click the Power Management Tab
7. Uncheck all boxes
8. Click OK and you can exit from Device Manager.
9. Go back to Control Panel
10. Choose Power Options.
11. Place the Radio Button in Balanced (recommended)

12. Select Change Plan Settings.
13. Once in the plan settings.
14. Change the option to put the computer to sleep to never.
a. If this is a laptop change this for on battery as well.
15. Choose Change advanced power settings.
16. Expand Hard Disk
17. Change Turn off hard disk after to never.
18. Change Sleep after, Allow Hybrid Sleep and Hibernate after
to never.

19. Under USB Settings
20. Expand USB selective suspend setting and disable.
21. Click Apply
22. Click OK and Save Changes.
User Account Control
1. From the Control Panel
2. Select User Accounts
3. Change User Account Control Settings.
4. Move the slider to never notify
5. Press Ok.
► Note: You must reboot to save this change.
Firewall Ports
1. From Control Panel Select Windows Firewall
2. Click Advanced Settings on the middle left of the screen.
3. In the inbound and outbound rule verify there is a rule
called Axis or Axis Ports.
a. If not call RTG to add.
b. If rule is in place double-click on each,

c. Click on the protocols and ports tab and confirm ports 1433,
8732, 8733 and
8744 are listed.
d. If so close this and exit back to the desktop.
