Friday 30 SeptemberElectronic music: Urban RemodelingMichael Grunditz and Marcus Mohall perform the composition Urban Remodeling. The electro-acoustic piece illustrates changes in the soundscape within urban spaces and is based on outdoor recordings made in Uppsala between 1999 and 2016, mixed with tunes from electronic instru-ments. Friday 7 OctoberRecital with Paul-André Bempéchat A collaboration between Musicum at Uppsala University and Harvard University has been initiated by Paul-André Bempéchat, Artist-In-Recidence at Leverett House, Harvard University and Director musices Stefan Karpe. The result is an exchange between students from Harvard and members from the Royal Academic Orchestra. The first concert whithin the collaboration is given by Paul-André Bempéchat himself at piano, performing music by Schubert and Chopin. The music will predominantly consist of jazz standards from The Great American Songbook: G. Gershwin, R. Rogers, I. Berlin and C. Porter, among others, arranged for symphony orchestra and big band.
