CONCLUSIONS Online Meeting 07/May/2013 - @ 11:00am Jacques di Constanzo has been appointed Rotary International Zone 11, 12,& 13B Director 2012-2014. As responsible for this area a united coordinated group for 2013-2014 must be appointed so that our goals set by President Elect Ron Burton can be successfully achieved and if possible surpassed. This group will be formed by essentially top Rotary International Leaders set in key regional positions. These positions are the following: Task force members, PDGs, DGs, DGE, DGN, DGP and relevant members that the Zone Director appoints necessary to the post. Communication between members is essential and a round of periodical online meetings will soon be set to ensure a coordinated, well-informed unit. The language communication between members will be: ENGLISH OR FRENCH (depending on participants) Attendance is voluntary but highly recommended. If a member was not able to attend the meeting a recording will be made and set to all members to keep track. The following are the conclusions to the first of these meeting that took place on 7 th May 2013 at 11:am. Please follow this link to hear the recording: http://youtu.be/2hV65SgXXgY 1.- Our top priority will be to focus all our energy to increase 3% in membership. (Stop downward tendency) 2.- To ensure our top priority to increase membership we will have to come up with different ideas and sets of plans on how to execute them effectively. 3.- Young people are a good target for us to focus on. In order to attract young people into rotary we must offer them what they need for. One initiative would be to offer the possibility of business contacts by a search by profession. (Although there are still some data protection issues.) 4.- Rotaractors are leaving the organization not becoming a Rotarian. One idea is that the rotary club party/totally funds the costs of this member for a period of up to 3 to 5 years. (Clarification note: The item n°4 , proposed as an enactment to the COL , has been rejected. Nevertheless, this could be an agreement between Rotaractors and Rotary clubs.) 5.- Ask members that have left for economic reasons to rejoin an E-club. The issue is raised: Local E-club good or bad idea?Pablo: Come to think of it, having a local e-club sounds particularly interesting to me, I think it is worth exploring this area furthermore. Local (Real) Club Presidents can invite individual members (that have passed the filter) to rejoin a local e- club paying only $250 a year and still be a Rotarian of a local community. 6.- One of these ideas is to focus our efforts on the younger generation and universities. 7.- The following are a brainstorm of concepts for us to start working on:

CONCLUSIONS – Online Meeting 07/May/2013 - @ 11:00am

Jacques di Constanzo has been appointed Rotary International Zone 11, 12,& 13B Director

2012-2014. As responsible for this area a united coordinated group for 2013-2014 must be

appointed so that our goals set by President Elect Ron Burton can be successfully achieved and

if possible surpassed.

This group will be formed by essentially top Rotary International Leaders set in key regional

positions. These positions are the following: Task force members, PDGs, DGs, DGE, DGN,

DGP and relevant members that the Zone Director appoints necessary to the post.

Communication between members is essential and a round of periodical online meetings will

soon be set to ensure a coordinated, well-informed unit.

The language communication between members will be: ENGLISH OR FRENCH (depending

on participants)

Attendance is voluntary but highly recommended. If a member was not able to attend the

meeting a recording will be made and set to all members to keep track.

The following are the conclusions to the first of these meeting that took place on 7th May 2013

at 11:am.

Please follow this link to hear the recording: http://youtu.be/2hV65SgXXgY

1.- Our top priority will be to focus all our energy to increase 3% in membership. (Stop

downward tendency)

2.- To ensure our top priority to increase membership we will have to come up with different

ideas and sets of plans on how to execute them effectively.

3.- Young people are a good target for us to focus on. In order to attract young people into

rotary we must offer them what they need for. One initiative would be to offer the possibility of

business contacts by a search by profession. (Although there are still some data protection

issues.)

4.- Rotaractors are leaving the organization not becoming a Rotarian. One idea is that the rotary

club party/totally funds the costs of this member for a period of up to 3 to 5 years. (Clarification

note: The item n°4 , proposed as an enactment to the COL , has been rejected. Nevertheless,

this could be an agreement between Rotaractors and Rotary clubs.)

5.- Ask members that have left for economic reasons to rejoin an E-club. The issue is raised:

“Local E-club good or bad idea?” Pablo: Come to think of it, having a local e-club sounds

particularly interesting to me, I think it is worth exploring this area furthermore. Local (Real)

Club Presidents can invite individual members (that have passed the filter) to rejoin a local e-

club paying only $250 a year and still be a Rotarian of a local community.

6.- One of these ideas is to focus our efforts on the younger generation and universities.

7.- The following are a brainstorm of concepts for us to start working on:

a.- With an exchange student, get the parents informed for them to join Rotary. (Make a day at

the universities and in other countries too)

b.- Organize days where exchange students can talk at universities about their experience and

invite others to join as well.

c.- Organize days that the club presents itself at the university.

d.- create a big event at no cost. Rotary presents a humanitarian project in the universities;

companies, sponsors and journalists are invited. (Note: For later dates work with other

universities so that winners of a possible competition may exchange. See the successful case

study of VENEZUELA, contact RPIC José Bernardo for further details (preferably in Spanish)

Rotary International Zone Director Jacques Di Constanzo would like to meet in Lisbon with

everyone attending.

8.- To increase membership through universities, through vocational services not only

humanitarian projects. (Talk to DGE 2203 Graciela Waen about her very exiting district project:

[email protected])

9.- Have Rotaractors go to the universities and spread the word once this has been done!

10.- “Whose responsibility is it?” Acknowledge whose responsibility goes to whom to

coordinate efforts and transparency.

11.- Take pictures for the World’s Biggest Commercial. Let’s make Portugal and Spain be the

first in the world! If we reach this goal before the convention it is very possible to enter in the

Guinness book of records. We could then use this material for future campaigns with young

people. Thousands of life’s to be saved, please take action!

12.- Posibility of asking rotarians that have left the organization to be invited by club presidents

that the member has left for economic reasons to join an e-club, local e-club.

We all look forward working together for Rotary and hope to make the best of putting Peace

Through Service while we start Engaging Rotary and Changing Peoples Life’s.

Warm regards,

Jacques di Costanzo
