Red Cross Blood Drive at Concordia - Sunday, April 23 from 12:30 pm- 5:00 pm. Sign up sheets are in the FLC. The number of blood drive staff is based on the number of signed up donors, so please sign up so we can prevent two hour wait times.

The Keys to Caregiving Conference. The Rowan County senior services of Lutheran Services Carolinas invite you to the Keys to Caregiving Conference. The conference is Tuesday, April 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Trinity Oaks, 728 Klumac Rd., Salisbury, NC 28144. Lunch is provided. The new piano in the Family Life Center has been generously donated by Jerry and Glenda Poole in honor of their close friends, Leonard and Phyllis Beaver. We are very grateful to Jerry and Glenda for this amazing gift and we thank God for the blessings that it will provide in our music ministry.
Thank You to everyone who helped with the” Cemetery Clean Up”. The Cemetery looks great! Help us keep our cemetery looking good by placing seasonal flowers in vases that are attached to the grave markers only. Other contain-ers fall over and often the flowers are blown away. Please make sure the flowers are secure in the vases by placing foam or another material in them that will keep them in place. Also, please remove flowers that are out of season or have be-come unsightly due to weather conditions. Thank you for keeping our Cemetery beautiful! Cemetery Team

MDA Muscle Walk for Zach Saturday, April 29
Meet at the Church at 8:45 to leave by 9:00 am. Kindergarten through 5th grade youth will need to be accompanied by a parent/adult. Any church member is welcome to go on the bus with the youth if there is room or drive separately. The bus will be stopping for lunch before returning to church. Please come out and support our own, Zach Smith, at the MDA Muscle Walk.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come. ”The Sacrament of Holy Communion is, by invitation of the Lord,
presented through the church to the baptized. Christ calls and invites all the baptized to the
Lord’s Table with believing hearts. Brief Information session Sunday, May 7th (after 8:30am and 11:00am services) Parent materials will be distributed for the home learning component. Sign up for a specific learning session group with Pastor Ken according to your child’s age. Parent/child may choose to attend one learning session (May 14 or May 21 at 4:00pm)

Jesse’s Ride and Run for PTSD Saturday, May 6, 2017
Come join us to help raise money for those suffering from PTSD. Registration begins at 8 am for the Ride and Run at Faith American Legion Park. All proceeds go to Honor One, whose Heal One’s Mission is: creating financial help for veterans, firefighters, and police officers suffering from PTSD.

We'll kick off the event by celebrating everyone who's been affected by cancer. Whether someone's been diagnosed for 10 days or been cancer-free for 10 years, they gather together for the crowd to cheer them on
Survivors Lap- 6 pm Care Givers Lap- 9 pm Luminary Ceremony- 9 pm
You may also remember loved ones lost to cancer and honor those in treatments by dedicating luminary bags. Each bag is personalized with a name and/or message and are illuminated after dark at the Relay for Life Event on May 6th at the Rowan County Fairgrounds. Each luminary is $10.00. Please complete a luminary envelope and place it in the offering plate. Make your check payable to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
Envelopes are available at the back of the Fellowship Hall on the Relay for Life Table Display.

Please make your plans now to be a part of "Cereal Sunday" during our Sunday School hour on April 30th. We will welcome Anne Corriher, Director of Main Street Mission to our church with as many boxes of cereal as we can collect that morning during our breakfast fellowship time. Cereal is
always a huge need for Main Street Mission. At Concordia we are always blessed by sharing
breakfast together on Sunday mornings and want to pass that breakfast blessing on to those who must often go without breakfast. Please bring your box of cereal to the front of the Family Life Center Sunday morning April 30th where tables will be available for your cereal gift. Anne will be speaking to us during our Sunday School hour about Main Street Mission and some of the new
exciting programs available there. Don't miss this opportunity to say TYJ (thank you Jesus) for
providing me with breakfast by sharing a box of cereal.

Sunday, May 7th- K thru 12th grade Youth Activities Bring bag lunch to eat after 11:00 Worship service. 12:30 – 1:00 pm- Music time with Leslie and Sarah
1:00 pm- Church bus trip to Central UMC, Concord, NC. This is a guided tour walking through a giant heart. Visitors can step inside the heart to learn how it functions, see various cardiovascular diseases, and raise awareness of keeping your heart healthy. There is also a health fair with multiple outdoor exhibits. Expected return to Concordia between 4:00 and 4:30 pm. Families are invited. Event is free.
