GCT Insulated Concrete Panel System is made up of an electro welded wire mesh enclosing an expanded polystyrene core. These panels and steel meshes are covered and finished on site with high strength concrete mortar forming a solid, energy efficient and durable construction. Panels are manufactured in Long Beach,

Mississippi, USA

Single Panel

The single panels are perfect for walls, partitions, claddings, floors and roofing in civil or industrial constructions. The single panel covered with the high strength concrete mortar can be used as a load-bearing structure in up to four story buildings. Other applications are: Partitions and claddings in new or existing buildings, Curtain Walls in large-sized industrial and commercial buildings, as an insulated stay in place form for roofing and floors of reduced span, prepared with or without pre-installed ribs. Since the insulation is integral to the wall system, extra insulation workers are not required. The walls are placed quickly meaning other trades can get to work sooner.

Floor Panel

The floor and roofing panels with or without RC provides great advantages such as lighter structures, great insulation and fast assembly time. With the cast in place concrete the steel reinforced floor and roof panels are strong, fast and easy to build.

Stairs Panel

The Stair Panel provides for a strong and lightweight structure. It is made up of a polystyrene (EPS) block, shaped according to design requirements, coated with two layers of steel wire mesh assembled with electro welded steel wires. The stair panel suitably reinforced and finished on site with high strength concrete mortar can be used to build stairs up to 20 ft. in length. External finishing such as tiles and marble can be applied to this concrete surface.

Landing Panel

A landing is a structure that connects two stairs between floors. It is used when there is not enough room for a continuous stair run. The landing panel can be directionally reinforced and used between two panel walls. The advantage of its lighter weight and insulation properties makes it the perfect construction solution.

Ease of handling and simple assembling

The wall panel can be easily moved by one or two persons. Two contiguous panels with an area of 64 square feet can be moved in its assembled form by a two person crew. During the construction stage the panels can be manually positioned by just one person without the use of lifting equipment. Speed up the construction without the use of specialized

labor!

Plumbing and Electrical piping installation

Before the concrete mortar is placed on the panel surface, the insulation and steel wire can be easily cut to allow concealed placement of plumbing and electrical lines. The laying of the system is easy, fast and clean. It does not require any masonry work. Heat gun can be used to melt the polystyrene prior to the placement of the electrical, communications and/or plumbing lines. If rigid pipes are required, the steel metal mesh can be trimmed with normal steel cutting shears and afterwards replaced with portions of steel reinforcement mesh.

Chases are made by melting polystrene behind the meshwork with a hot-air gun.

Pipes (electricity, water, gas etc) are easy and quick to place behind the metal meshwork.

Carmelo Industrialized Mortar System

Industrialized Mortars

During the construction of a project there are several related stages that follow a strict and unalterable sequence that affects the amount of time required, and as a consequence has a direct effect on the contractor’s costs.

There are two methods for preparing and applying the plaster mix, the conventional method and the industrialized method. The industrial method reduces the time it takes to prepare and apply the plastering mixes making it 3 to 5 times faster than the conventional method, with a savings of up to 50% per square yard of applied plaster.

The key to this method and the savings for the contractor is that you can work with a superior quality mortar mix, consistent surface finish, faster mix preparation, continuous flow of mix and an application with plastering equipment that quickly covers the surfaces. In this manner, construction workers and their assistants can complete 3 to 5 times more square feet of plastering per day, reducing the days needed for this work and resulting in savings for the project, and therefore, for the contractor.

Ecológica Carmelo Mortar products includes plastering mix, structural mortar mix, floor topping mix, self-leveling mix, general purpose mortar, polymer modified thin-set mortars and concrete resurfacing compounds. All of these alternatives offer economic advantages to the contractor and a cleaner working environment at the jobsite while decreasing the completion time of the project.

Advantages of the Industrialized Mortar System:

A significant increase in productivity Quality assurance. Reduction in waste and loss of material Better material inventory control Environmentally friendly material Reduced dust emissions

Fire Resistant

The quality of the expanded polystyrene used for our Panels are of the self-extinguishing type: moreover, the two concrete layers which coat the panel side prevent its combustion. The fire resistance has been also verified in tests carried out at different laboratories, complying in full with the minimum requirements of the most demanding regulations. For example, a wall build using the PSM80 panel has shown a fire resistant rating in accordance with ASTM E-119.

Earthquake Resistant

Laboratory tests carried out on one of GCT Panel System prototypes made up of tow stairs in true scale have shown that the structure withstands, with no damages, strains greater than those calculated for a First Class Earthquake regulations. The results obtained during these tests represent the scientific confirmation of what has already been experimented in nature many times.

Hurricane / Tornado Resistant

Structures build with GCT Panel System have proved, throughout the years, their capacity to withstand the hurricane force winds.

Sustainability and Energy Saving

The improved thermal comfort inside the structures built with GCT System is guaranteed by the widespread presence of expanded polystyrene core and its very low heat conductivity that cancels bridges dramatically and reduces energy consumption, thus creating a sustainable structure.

Lightness

The panels are lightweight and rigid at the same time, even before finishing with mortars applied with M-tec equipment. Easy to handle and to assemble.

Quick Installation

Reduced Construction time that optimizes the construction process and reduces labor cost.

Load Resistant

Laboratory tests carried out in the USA, have proven the high load resistance of the GCT panels. Compression tests with center load carried out on a finished single panel, 12 ft high, have shown strengths in excess of 7880 lbs. /ft.

Versatility

GCT building system provides ample design flexibility, thanks for a full range of building elements: load-bearing walls, curtain walls,

Technical characteristics and advantages of the GCT Insulated Concrete Building System

floors and stairs. Obtain any kind of geometrical form, either plane or curve by simply cutting the elements at the site.

Soundproofing

The soundproofing of GCT Panel System represents one of the advantages of the building system. The possible application of acoustic insulation materials onto the panel (suck as cork, cocoa fiber, plasterboard, rock wool, etc) optimizes the insulation of the wall in accordance with the strictest acoustic legislation.

Wide choice of finishing

Carmelo Mortar Mix with superior bonding strength is easy to place and finish with desired textures as specified by architects and designers.
