President’s Message Hello Ladies & Gentleman: It is with great excitement that I welcome everyone to the 160th Teeswater Culross Rural Fair. Planning for this big event started the day we packed the last box away from last years fair. Our volunteers have worked very hard to make this a special occasion and we hope that you take part in all the festivities that we have to offer. If you have suggestions to make this a better fair, please let us know, we want to hear from you. If you see our volunteers around the town or the fairgrounds, please let them know how much the Teeswater Fair means to you. This is why we do, what we do, for your enjoyment. We’re here to make memories, bring people together, celebrate agriculture and to give back to our wonderful community. Thanks for visiting and pertaking in our fair and we look forward to seeing everyone at our next event. Be sure to watch for more fair information in the “Community Calendar” distributed monthly in the area. Yours in the fair spirit. Brendan Zettler

MESSAGE FROM SENIOR AMBASSADOR

This year has been an amazing experience. I have met so many people and have made lots of friends along the way of this journey. August 9th of 2014 I was crowned the 2014-2015 Senior Ambassador and within this year I have had the chance to attend and help out at the 4-H awards night, the Spook Haus, the Santa Claus parade, the district #10 meetings, monthly meetings and the OAAS convention at the Royal York in Toronto. I am very excited to compete in the Miss Midwest pageant and the CNE. But my first and favourite event was the Teeswater Fair (behind the farm gate) - all of these events have given me a chance to meet new people, make new friends, promote our fair and what agriculture is all about and to speak and improve my speaking skills. Overall I have made one very special friend, and that would be my Junior ambassador, Hailey Miller. She has helped me grow as a person throughout this past year. Having someone like Hailey by your side is an amazing experience just alone. We have made some crazy memories together that I will never forget. Being an ambassador is a great experience and opens alot of doors. You get to have many opportunities that you’ve never had before. I will miss all of this—the way the crown leaves an indent in your head and you can feel it for hours after you have taken it off, OR when your walking and the sash falls off and you just about trip and fall on your face in front of everyone. The new ambassador will have memories too and I want to wish him or her good luck and I am beyond excited to help them any way possible. I would like to thank all of the volunteers who make the Teeswater Fair weekend the best weekend anyone could possibly experience. I would also like to thank the Teeswater Agr. Society for making this year possible and a year that I will never forget. Senior Ambassador—Sarah Rawn Note: Our Ambassador competition for 2015 will be held August 21 (Friday night of the fair). Come out and enjoy the evening and support the young people of our community. Say “hello” to past ambassadors which will be in attendance. See page 21 for more details.

JUNIOR AMBASSADOR’S MESSAGE

KEEP IN TOUCH WITH US

Web www.teeswaterfair.org Email [email protected] Facebook Twitter @ Teeswater Fair Teeswater Community Calendar Lots of up-to-date information

My name is Hailey Miller and I have the privilege of being the 2014-2015 Junior Ambassador for the Teeswater Fair. What an exciting year I have had. The 2014 fair was excellent, with sunny weather and great events to attend over 3 days. We participated in the Spook Haus, we attended the District 10 meeting in Chesley, 4-H awards night and were part of the Santa Claus parade in town. I also attended the monthly Fair meetings and this gave me a big under-standing of what goes on behind the scenes all year to

put on such an amazing 3 day rural fair. Becoming the Junior Ambassador was an excellent opportunity for me. I gained interview skills and confidence in public speaking and I met many new people. I have many great memories which I will cherish. I would like to thank my sponsor—TLC Solutions for providing me with the opportunity to be a part of the ambassador competition. Thank you to Sarah Rawn—the 2014-2015 Senior Ambassador. We had a great year together with lots of laughs. Thank you to my parents for making sure I got to all of the events I attended. Thank you to Lorraine Riley for guiding me through the ambassador duties and Brendan Zettler and the executive of the Teeswater Agricultural Society for welcoming me and for all of their hard work and dedication. I would like to encourage everyone to come out to the 160th Teeswater Fair. It promises to be an amazing weekend full of activities and fun for all ages. This has been an amazing opportunity for me and a year to remember. Jr. Ambassador—Hailey Miller
