01south lee streetstreetscape development project
The South Lee Street design was implement-ed as part of a larger streetscape development for the city of Buford, GA. This 0.9 mile segment of roadway is part of a larger beautification proj-ect that is currently being developed.
Where they exist, side-walk segments are very narrow (4 ft. in some places) wtih crumbling concrete, while in other areas, no pedestrian ar-eas currently exist.
This project was aimed at improving:-Pedestrian access and circulation in the area-Addition of site amenities and tree plantings-Burial of site infrastruc-ture and overal clean-up of surrounding parking areas-Revitalization of business and residential districts-Overal effectiveness of the site-Addition of bicycle lanes
While working at Tunnell Spangler Walsh & As-sociates this summer, I was able to contribute an immense amount of material/research to this project that will begin de-velopment sometime next year.

02park pridestudent design competition
The Rolling Ridge Rd. park site is in a built-out sub-urban area lacking in park acreage. The site’s prior floodplain status fore-stalled development for decades. After this sta-tus changed, the site was quickly acquired, cleared of a uniform growth of young pine, and filled to keep it from reverting to floodplain in the next analysis. A clean slate indeed.
The 13.3-acre park site serves an approximately seven-square mile ser-vice area within Gwinnett County, Georgia. The only design criteria was to have 100 parking spaces and a small restroom fa-cility, the rest was open to our own imagination.
Using this criteria, our group was able to develop a usable and aestheti-cally pleasing plan with a covered parking structure, green roof, boardwalk vistas, and small dog park for resident use.
Although the plan would not be developed as part of the competition guide-lines, the project helped in developing valuable social and design skills while working in a team envi-ronment.

Building on the founda-tions that I have estab-lished over the past three years, the next challenge was a small three-acre plot of land just south of downtown Atlanta.
The Northside Park con-cept and final design was built off of an earlier plan developed in the 1960s. The Park had fallen into disrepair and needed new life.
Developing a site program that included a small re-stroom facility, eight park-ing spaces, a playground, and existing tennis and basketball courts, I devel-oped a unique overall plan from two different con-cepts.
As shown, the main de-sign feature is the large concentric ovals circling the park. On the south end of the site sits an elevated walking bridge with tall native grasses. A pavilion and cooking grills were added near the basketball court for local residents to enjoy, as well as two main foun-

This project was a simple design project that I did using the Revit Architec-ture program. The building was not my own design but was built to show-case my skills using the program, and my ability to generate life-like ren-derings in a very short amount of time
The project presented some challenges due to the fact that I have had no formal training in the program. I was able to follow some quick and easy tutorials online that led me through the pro-cess of creating floors, levels, walls, curtain walls, windows, doors, columns, and free forms.
I believe that the more I use the program, the bet-ter I will become at gen-erating renderings effi-ciently and effectively on a daily basis.
Although used primarily by architects, my ability to use Revit will help fur-ther my reach in the pro-fessional realm.

The Memorial Garden at The University of Geor-gia in intended to “re-member those who have served and fallen” in de-fense of democracy and their country. With this new schematic design, the university will enjoy a renewed feeling of re-membrance and admira-tion for those who served in the armed forces. The overall circular layout and design is intended to evoke a variety of emo-tions as one traverses the site. Monuments are placed in strategic loca-tions throughout the site, as well as behind gran-ite seat walls. All seating is oriented around each larger circle in varying shapes and position. The repetition of these de-sign aspects assist in the overall success of the design, allowing anyone to enjoy the space at any time.
The site also features: A large reflecting pool, a va-riety of native plantings, sustainable design, and unique design.
This new design will help to unify the univer-sity community while at the same time, create a space that is both unique and inviting to visitors and those looking to re-member and admire those who served their country for the greater good.
