    Eschatology is understandable.

    Like any doctrine of Scripture, there areaspects of eschatology that are difficult tounderstand;

    Nevertheless, considered as a wholediscipline, the doctrine of last things is ingeneralclearly expressed in Scripture.

    This even includes our capacity to understandthe book of Revelation.

    Keys to UnderstandingEschatology

    Eschatology encapsulates the Bibles

    entire outlook It must not be limited to the events

    surrounding the end of ones life or even the

    end of history;

    Rather, Gods redemption in Jesus Christ islinear and has always been heading toward

    its final goal.

    Keys to UnderstandingEschatology

    Eschatology is understood in retrospect.

    That is, in order to understand how Scriptureanticipates the end, we need to read the Biblebackwards.

    The NT teaches us how to understand the OTprophetic material.

    If we do not read the Bible backwards, we runthe risk of falling into the same trap as Jesuscontemporaries and missing the message.
