  • Britain remains at the forefront in the research, development, implementation andexploitation of composite materials worldwide. Our industry and research baseboasts some of the world's greatest achievements in composite materials.

The British Composites Society was formed to provide a focal point forprofessional development and training in this field and to encourage our continueddominance in this area.

This one-day conference and posterexhibition will demonstrate and celebratethe Nation's strengths and capabilities incomposites, bringing together activemembers of the UK composites communityto showcase the best research at theforefront of UK composite technology.

In addition, this event aims to facilitateinitiation of future collaborations and hasbeen structured to promote effectivenetworking.

The key themes for the conference are:

Industry Drivers: New and Emerging Technologies Transport (Land and Sea) Energy and Renewables Aerospace and Defence Multifunctional, Nano and

    Natural Composites.

Key Enabling Technologies forComposites: Processing and Recycling Inspections and Structural Health

Monitoring Qualification Virtual Testing and Design.

ProgrammeInvited keynote and specialist speakerswill highlight the leading areas of industrydrivers, composites development andfuture directions for research coveringTechnology Readiness Levels 5-9. Thepresentations and abstracts given duringthe day will be available to attendees todownload from the BCS website after theevent.

Exhibition SessionsIn addition, institutions and establishedresearchers are invited to presentposters which highlight the active areas ofcomposite research being performedwithin their organisations coveringTechnology Readiness Levels 1-6.These sessions will provide opportunitiesof discussing these topics and promotenetworking between the attendees.
