Special topic: Dairy 2.0: Designing the Future of Indian Dairy
Bolstered by white revolution and national dairy plans, the Indian dairy has seen major productivity en-
hancement in the last decades, can be termed as Dairy 1.0 – the first revolution in dairy production. It be-
gan with an effort to boost production and make India a self-stuffiest market.
Indian dairy has come a long way and is keen to take a new direction. The new direction is what IFCN is
calling “Dairy 2.0” of Indian Dairy.
The new revolution will help Indian dairy redefine itself, working in tandem with n different verticals of
the value chain to create a sustainable future for dairying in India. Dairy 2.0, will be marked by new lead-
ership, innovation, quality as a benchmark and better integration of different verticals like milk handling,
packaging, transportation and by working hand in hand with other parts of the dairy value chain.
The Dairy 2.0 is a work in progress. To design the future of India dairy, we would kindly invite you to join
the 8th IFCN Regional Workshop.
