Things just work better when they work together
There have been some big changes in the industry! WideOrbit, MusicMaster, PhoneBOX, and Stirlitz have committed to developing even higher levels of integration between themselves and as Livewire partners they already work better with Axia and Telos products than their competition.
But from our point of view the best news is that for the first time in Australia they are now all under one roof.
AVC, committed to helping you build the perfect Digital Studio 1800-631-728
Who is Mindframe?
The Mindframe National Media Initiative provides evidence-based information and resources to encourage responsible, accurate and sensitive representation of mental illness and suicide in the Australian mass media.
Why is it important?
Australian broadcasters play a key role in informing the community about mental illness and suicide. This includes community broadcasters from priority populations such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; culturally and linguistically diverse communities; and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex peoples.
What information do we provide to Australian community broadcasters?
Our extensive resources, which are all available at www.mindframe-media.info, include quick guides, contacts and sources for stories, help-seeking numbers, evidence and research, and a self-care guide for journalists.
For expert advice on reporting suicide and mental illness:

WelCome from the CBAA
President’s WelComeThe annual CBAA conference is a favourite time of the year for me, where I get to catch up with old friends and make new ones. I strongly encourage you to take advantage of having people from across the sector all in one place to learn, share and socialise. It will no doubt be a fun experience.
We have a jam-packed program for Sydney, including keynote speaker Gretel Killeen, a multitude of plenary sessions with something for everyone and workshops covering many relevant topics, such as challenges faced by small stations, fundraising and crowd-sourcing, digital radio and a host of others. Often it can be a hard choice to decide which session to attend, but that isn’t a bad thing. You may pick to go to one particular session, with your new ‘friend’ that you’ve met at the conference going to another – then re-group and discuss. The more discussion the better.
Another favourite for me is the Gala Awards Dinner, where we all get to hear about the many fantastic things that stations achieve and that’s always worth celebrating. So congratulations and good luck to all the nominees – I don’t envy the judges.
Finally, I want to thank all the people involved in the planning and running of this year’s conference, in particular all the wonderful CBAA staff – thank you!
Here’s to another terrific conference – go forth and imbibe.
