One Team, One GoalA Little Bit About Elon & Elon Campus Recreation
Elon University embraces its founders’ vision of an academic community that transforms mind, body, and spirit and encourages
freedom of thought and liberty of conscience.
Elon’s Mission Statement focuses on providing students with an academic journey which explores the mind, body, and spirit. Thus, physical and mental health is a major part of the Elon stu-dent experience. Campus Recreation embodies these core Elon values, and works to help students find a healthy balance for their busy student lives.
Our program offers a variety of opportuni-ties that aim to reach the diverse range of student preferences and needs. Our departments consist of Intramural Sports, Club Spots, Outdoor Recreation, Group Exercise, Fitness, Aquatics, Facilities, Marketing, Challenge Course, and Special Events. Each section--although striving to meet individual objectives--works with the entirety of Campus Recreation, living our motto, “One Team, One Goal”
On behalf of Elon University and Campus Recreation, I would like to welcome you to the 2015 NoCRSA State Workshop. This workshop is a time to reconnect with colleagues, make new connections, and learn from the depth of knowledge and professional expertise that students and staff have been so graciously willing to share. I have heard a lot about the “Elon Way” since my arrival on campus this June. To me, this means empowering students, faculty, and staff to participate in engaged learning opportunities that will, as our mission states, transform mind, body, and spirit. And while you are only here for a short time, I hope you find that the NoCRSA State Workshop captures the essence of Elon and our commitment to helping everyone in our community achieve their greatest potential. Lastly, I want to thank the many student employees, Campus Recreation professional staff, volunteers, presenters, vendors, sponsors, and supporters who have made this workshop possible. It is certainly a team effort to host a successful workshop, but that is what we do best at Elon. As we like to say in Campus Recreation, “One Team, One Goal.” Please let me know if there is anything I can do to make your time at Elon a positive experience. I hope you have a great workshop and also find some time in your day to enjoy our beautiful campus.
