Currency: It is a unit of exchange, facilitating the transfer of goods and/or services.
It is one form of money, where money is anything that serves as a medium of exchange, and a standard of value.
To facilitate trade between currency zones, there are exchange rates, which are the prices at which
currencies (and the goods and services of individual currency zones) can be exchanged against each
other.

Compare and Order Money Amounts
You can use a place value chart to compare money amounts.
Start at left. Look for the first place where the digits are different.
Example: Compare $306.97 and $319.23Hundred Dollars
Ten Dollars
One Dollar
Cents
3 0 6 97
3 1 9 23
Same different
The amount $319.23 has more ten dollars than $306.97So, $319.23 > $306.97
CONFIDENTIAL 12
You can also compare and order the same way you do for whole numbers:
Compare and order from least to greatest:
$7.13, $6.95, $6.89
Step 1: Line up the decimal points. Compare the three amounts.
$7.13$6.95$6.897>6
So $7.13 is the greatest number.
CONFIDENTIAL 13
Step 3: Write the money amounts in order from least to greatest.
Step 2: Compare the remaining two amounts.
$6.95$6.898<9, So, $6.89 is less than $6.95
$6.89 < $6.95 < $7.13
