Configuring 3CX for Spitfire SIP Trunks This document is a guideline for configuring Spitfire SIP trunks onto a 3CX which includes the settings required for Inbound DDI routing and Outbound CLI presentation. The settings contained within have been tested and are known to work at the time of testing. SIP trunk details such as account number and password will be provided separately. Provisioning a trunk during initial 3CX installation: Page 2 Provisioning a trunk after 3CX installation: Page 5 Inbound DDI’s Reference: Page 17 Outbound CLI Reference: Page 18 This guide is based on using the VOIP Provider Wizard to provision Spitfire’s SIP trunks on a 3CX. You can provision a trunk manually, but there are many settings to change that the Wizard will do automatically – it is HIGHLY recommend that you use the Wizard. Please note that 3CX versions prior to V9.15536 may not have the correct details in the VoIP Provider wizard, or may not have the template at all. I would recommend that all installations use the latest version of software for ease of provisioning. If your 3CX installation is located behind a NAT’ed router, please pay attention to the STUN and VoIP Provider capabilities on pages 5&6 or 16&17.

3. Enter the SIP Trunk details as below. Please note that @spitfiretsp.net is NOT entered after the username. This is not required as spitfiretsp.net is automatically appended to the username by the 3CX

4. Also note that the External Number does not have 44 pre-pended. This is the default CLI sent to line if the extensions do not have their own individual CLI set.

5. You are next asked for the dialing rules. The dialing rules are down to the installer, the screenshot

below is for reference only and not a very good dialing plan!

STUN If your 3CX is behind a NAT’ed router ensure you switch OFF the STUN server. Change the “Public IP to specify in Contact and SDP” to the private address seen in the “Select Network card Interface” beneath – i.e. the IP address of the 3CX server. Specifying your external IP address in the Contact and SDP headers can lead to 1 way audio and problems presenting calls to the 3CX. Once you OK these settings you will be asked to restart the 3CX services. In the unlikely event that you are not prompted to restart the 3CX services, please go to Services Status (in the 3CX admin tool) and select Restart All.

Provisioning a trunk after 3CX installation:

The 3CX management interface can be access via the Management tool, or via a web browser at http://ipaddress:5481 If the 3CX in question is V9.15536 or above the template will be included in the system and you can run the VoIP Provider Wizard immediately. If the 3CX is lower than V9.15536 you will need to copy the template onto the host server before starting the VoIP Provider Wizard. To install the Spitfire Template (if required): Unzip the template to the following locations: Windows XP or Windows 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data \3CX\Data\Http\templates\provider.

Windows Vista or Windows 2008: C:\ProgramData\3CX\Data\Http\templates\provider.

The Provider template will now be available in the list of providers in the 3CX Web Interface > Add VOIP node.

1. Select Add VoIP Provider Wizard at the top of the 3CX programming tool.
