Well all I can say is how proud I am to be a part of such a fantastic community, where almost 500 turned up and walked at 4.15 am from the darkness into light, A big thank you to all the marshals and gardai who kept us safe along the way, to the kitchen team who made teas and washed up, to Caroline and Carlos for amazing pics, to Jack, John and Michael for the bonfires, Michael for doing the route signage and to Tommy for advertising signs. To the businesses on Main

Street who decorated windows and lit up, and to the residents along the route who made such a great effort. The Schull senior branch Girl Guides led us in a very fitting song "Walk Me Home in the Dead of Night " and to Daniel Morgan of DM fitness who did a gentle warm up to get every one ready for the off, then Michael Collins T.D. counted us down and cut the ribbon. The street was just a sight to behold, a sea of yellow. The hall started to fill just after 5 when the walkers came back for a nice cuppa and scone and of course the chat. It was fantastic to see all ages coming together and raising awareness that it's ok to talk, ask for help, and reach out, life can be tough so know there is always help available. Thank you one and all. Ellen Logan.

Foroige Ball: Pictured below and looking amazing are the members of Goleen Foroige Club who attended the Foroige Ball at The Vienna Woods Hotel in Cork last Friday night. There were over 400 members from west and north Cork accompanied by club leaders that attended the older members ball. The style on show was nothing short of incredible with the ‘best dressed lady’ award going to Leap Foroige club. Other west Cork clubs in attendance were Union Hall, Aughadown, Baltimore, Skibereen and Drimoleague. We shared a bus with the Union Hall and Drimoleague clubs so there was some lively banter with singing and impersonations of famous people. The kids were very enthusiastic and looking forward to the evening ahead. We were served a lovely meal with a disco after and the music played until 11.30. The clubs were returned to their buses in an orderly fashion and we faced the long journey home, where I reflect-ed on the night. I must say the event was very well organised and the kids had a great time, they enjoyed their evening greatly and I must compliment all of them on their behaviour and politeness to leaders, staff and bus drivers. Well done to all 5 Goleen Foroige members that represented our club, and their families with great pride, they didn’t put a foot wrong all evening - except on the dance floor!! Tom Notter.
