Press and hold the button on the tab to turn on both the left and right shoes and check that the batteries are charged. Typically the shoes arrive with charge level 7 out of 10, enough to start writing and using the GEOX XLED™ app.(note: when the battery is discharged, or when the shoe is charging, it is not possible to write).
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
To charge your shoes, plug the USB cable into a power outlet (Note: only the cable is supplied with the footwear, not the power supply: a USB power supply with an output voltage of 5V and a maximum current of 0.5A must be used).
On the RIGHT SHOE text and images can be customised on the led strip using the
GEOX XLED™ app.
The LEFT SHOE has 4 different linear light effects that can be selected by pressing the button on the tab.

1) install the GEOX XLED™ app available free of charge from the Google Play Store (for Android versions 5.0 and higher) or
the Apple Store (for iOS 10.3 and higher).
2) Make Sure Bluetooth * is activated on your smartphone.
3) Turn on the right shoe while holding down the button. Letters will scroll on the screen on the heel such as, for
example: Bt 7 – id:AF:4C which indicates the battery level (Bt 7) and the GEOX XLED™ shoes code name
(id:AF:4C).Check that you have at least battery level 7 (Bt 7).

4) Scroll through the instruction slides, click on “start using GEOX XLED™”, read the welcome text (it will appear only after the first start) and confirm.

The “My shoes” screen opens automatically at start-up. By clicking on the GEOX XLED™ icon you will be connected to the right shoe.
Note: the identification code appears next to “name”, check that it is the same as on the right shoe. If there are several GEOX XLED™ shoes nearby, you can identify the ones you want to customise.Note: the right shoe can only be paired with one smartphone at a time. It is not possible to customise the same shoe using more than one smartphone at the same time.
From the main screen you can customise the right shoe using one of three methods:
1) Writing in “text” mode (maximum 35 latin characters, punctuation marks are not allowed).
2) Drawing in “design board” mode.
3) By choosing a motif from the “library”
From the “effects & display” menu, speed, direction and brightness of the patterns entered can be customised (only for words up to 6 characters).
Instructions in digital versionBy clicking on the icon the instruction page can be accessed in digital format.

PARENTAL CONTROLLimits shoe customisation to the motifs in the library, preventing writing or drawing. Note: when using parental control, we recommend that you also use private mode.
PRIVATE MODEPrevents a strange phone from interacting with the shoe.

HOW DO I PROGRAM MY GEOX XLED™?THE GEOX XLED™ APP ALLOWS YOU TO CONFIGURE YOUR XLED™. YOUCAN DOWNLOAD IT FROM THE APP STORE FOR IOS VERSION 10.3 AND OVER OR FROM THE PLAY STORE FOR ANDROID VERSION 5.0 AND OVER. THE APP DOES NOT WORK WITH OTHER OPERATING SYSTEMS.DID YOU CHECK THE BATTERY LEVEL? TOO LOW A LEVEL MAY MAKE THINGS DIFFICULT FOR YOU. CHECK THAT THE LEVEL IS AT LEAST 2.
HOW MANY THINGS CAN I WRITE AND DRAW ON MY GEOX LEDS™?ON THE RIGHT SHOE OF YOUR GEOX XLED™S™ YOU CAN WRITE SENTENCES OF 39 CHARACTERS USING THE LATIN ALPHABET WITH ACCENTED CHARACTERS, NUMBERS AND Ç Ñ ‘ CHARACTERS (APOSTROPHE, ASCII 39 ONLY).YOU CAN ALTERNATIVELY PROGRAM A DRAWING OF 5 X 36 POINTS.
IN WHAT LANGUAGES IN THE GEOX XLED™ APP AVAILABLE? THE GEOX XLED™ APP IS AVAILABLE IN ALL COUNTRIES IN FIVE LANGUAGES (ITALIAN, ENGLISH, FRENCH, SPANISH, GERMAN) WITH ENGLISH AS DEFAULT LANGUAGE FOR ALL OTHER COUNTRIES.
CAN THE SHOE BE PROGRAMMED WHEN TURNED OFF?NO, THE SHOE CAN ONLY BE PROGRAMMED WHEN IT IS ON. REMEMBERTHAT ONLY THE RIGHT SHOE IS PROGRAMMABLE THROUGH THE APP.
MY GEOX XLED™ APP DOESN’T WORK OR I CAN’T SEE MY GEOX XLED™S™ ON MY SMARTPHONE. WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO?TRY TO KEEP THE SHOES CLOSER, TRY TO BE AT A MAXIMUM OF 3 METRESFROM YOUR GEOX XLED™S™ IN ORDER TO PROGRAM THEM CORRECTLY.CHECK THAT YOU HAVE AT LEAST VERSION 5.0 FOR ANDROID AND AT LEAST VERSION 10.3 FOR IOS. CHECK THAT YOU HAVE ALLOWED THE BLUETOOTH SYSTEM TO BE ACTIVATED. TRY CLOSING AND REOPENING THE GEOX XLED™ APP. TRY RESTARTING YOUR SMARTPHONE.
I DON’T REMEMBER THE PARENTAL CONTROL PASSWORD. WHAT CAN I DO?PLEASE FOLLOW THIS PROCEDURE: ON THE FOOTWEAR: 1) PRESS THE BUTTON TO LIGHT THE RIGHT XLED™ SHOE2) WAIT FOR THE GEOX XLED™ SIGN TO APPEAR - 3) WHEN YOU SEE THE SIGN PRESS THE BUTTON VERY QUICKLY IN SEQUENCE 3 TIMES TO RESET THE SHOE. THE SHOE CAN NOW BE CONNECTED TO A NEW DEVICE (OR TO THE SAME DEVICE). THE RESET WAS SUCCESSFUL IF, AFTER HAVING PRESSED THE BUTTON THREE TIMES, THE GEOX XLED™ SIGN IS STILL VISIBLE. THEN ON YOUR SMARTPHONE: UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL THE APP.

I’VE RESET BUT STILL CAN’T CONNECT WITH MY SMARTPHONE.TRY AGAIN SEVERAL TIMES, MENTALLY COUNTING ONE-TWO-THREE. THE RESET PROCEDURE IS AN EMERGENCY PROCEDURE AND THEREFORE IT WAS NOT MADE EASY IN ORDER TO AVOID ACTIVATING IT BY MISTAKE. CHECK THAT GEOX XLED™ IS DISPLAYED. THE RESET PROCEDURE CANNOT BE PERFORMED WITH OTHER DISPLAYS.
HOW CAN I PROGRAM THE LEFT SHOE OF MY XLED™?RIGHT SHOE AND LEFT SHOE ARE DIFFERENT. THE RIGHT SHOE CAN BE PERSONALISED THROUGH THE GEOX XLED™ APP WHILST THE LEFT SHOE CAN BE CUSTOMISED WITH A CHOICE BETWEEN FOUR DIFFERENT PRESET LIGHT EFFECTS. TO CHANGE THEM, PRESS THE BUTTON ON THE TAB.
HOW LONG DOES THE BATTERY ON MY GEOX XLED™ LAST?SERVICE LIFE DEPENDS ON OPERATING CONDITIONS. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOURECHARGE THE BATTERIES EVERY DAY WHEN YOU USE THE SHOES.
HOW LONG CAN THE LED DEVICE LAST ON THE SHOE?THE AVERAGE DURATION FROM TESTS CARRIED OUT ON LEDS LIT WITH 50% LIGHT INTENSITY IS AS FOLLOWS: RIGHT SHOE 5 HOURS, LEFT SHOE 8 HOURS. LIFE TIME MAY VARY DEPENDING ON USE.
I NOTICE THAT SOMETIMES MY GEOX XLED™ TURN ON BY THEMSELVES. WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO?IT HAPPENS THAT IF THE VELCRO IS NOT CLOSED PROPERLY ON THE SHOE, IT CAN ACCIDENTALLY DEPRESS THE BUTTON WHILE WALKING. CHECK THAT YOU HAVE CLOSED YOUR SHOES PROPERLY.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY XLED™S ARE USED ON A RAINY DAY?GEOX XLED™, LIKE ALL FOOTWEAR WITH LIGHTS, CAN BE USED IN RAINY CONDITIONS, BUT AS THEY ARE EQUIPPED WITH AN ELECTRIC CIRCUIT, THEY DON’T LIKE HUMIDITY. THEY SHOULD THEREFORE NOT BE USED IN HEAVY RAIN AND EXTREMELY WET CONDITIONS. MAKE SURE TO ALLOW THEM TO DRY AFTER USE IN THE RAIN.THEY SHOULD NOT BE WASHED IN A WASHING MACHINE OR BY HAND. USE A DAMP CLOTH AND/OR ONE OF GEOX - SOFT CLEAN - CLEANING PRODUCTS.
