The GRADE Resource Library (GRL) on CD-ROM, is intended for use after administration of the Group Reading Assessment and Diagnostic Evaluation (GRADE). The Activities, Worksheets, and Booklist provide practice for students whose GRADE results indicated a need for review or additional work in one or more skill areas. The GRL components can also be used to provide opportunities for growth in reading ability for students whose GRADE results suggest strong reading skills. Since these materials can be used to challenge as well as remediate, the range of the difficulty of the GRL content extends slightly above and below the GRL level.

There are three GRL components. The components help you individualize reading practice based on GRADE results.Activities: Each GRL contains Activities which include a major skills area, a title and reference number, the objective, directions, time required, group size, and materials needed.Worksheets: Each GRL worksheet is designed for independent student work. Only at the lower levels will students require assistance with directions. Booklists: Each GRL contains a list of 500 popular titles of fiction and nonfiction books. The 500 titles in each GRL are appropriately categorized based on the level l. For example, the titles in the Level P GRL are grouped into categories like alphabet books, books that stress rhyming, and concept books. The titles in the Level 5 GRL are grouped into categories that address various comprehension skills, such as drawing conclusions, making inferences, and recognizing cause and effect. Books are listed by title and author representing diverse populations and cultures.
