What is Marketplace Ministry? Through his tent-making business, the Apostle Paul was able to meet a

social need, connect with his community and subsidise his missionary

journeys. This is just one of many Marketplace Ministry models. Other

examples include:

An auto mechanic trains unemployed youth to restore cheap

disused cars to sell at a higher price. This Marketplace Ministry

trains 10 unemployed youth annually who go on to further

training and/or paid apprenticeships, and donates one in ten

refurbished cars to a disadvantaged family in the community.

Utilising their empty Sunday School rooms during weekdays,

a local church sets up a daycare centre. In partnership with local

case workers, the daycare centre offers free weekly childcare to

a dozen single mothers. Costs are subsidised by church sponsors

and other childcare fee-paying parents.

This innovative one-year diploma program will equip members of your church to establish and

run a marketplace ministry. This program has the potential to:

Marketplace Ministry Training will challenge members of your church and local community

to integrate their Christian faith with their business practice – whether that is towards

setting up a Marketplace Ministry, running a small business from home, or to progress

career-wise in business management.
