Connecting your Waste Master hose so that it’s permanently connected
The following is an excellent step by step instruction with photos, that one of our customer’s did for us when he
installed his permanently connected Waste Master hose system using LCI’s sewer hose storage enclosure.
Hello Everyone,
I am going to try to describe my experience with the Waste Management System to the best of my ability.
Don’t expect too much, but here goes.
To begin with I needed a new sewer hose for my 2012 Keystone Cougar 26 SAB 5th wheel camper. I decided to
do a little research and came across the Waste Management System by Lippert Components. After seeing the
videos and reading a few reviews I decided to purchase one and give it a try. I chose to buy it from one of the
big retail stores on line to try and save some money. The description was very vague and in the pictures it only
showed the hose inside a storage container, so I gave them a call to try and get more information. After
speaking with them, they were not 100 percent sure of what came with the purchase but thought that if the
container was in the picture it would be included. So I purchased it and waited to see. Once I received the
package it was clear, no container was included. Needless to say I was very disappointed.
So, I began to search the web once again to try and find this container so I would have a place to store the
hose outside of the storage compartment for the camper. I ran across an article on the introduction of the
Waste Management System and found an e-mail address and decided to send an e-mail. The article was
several years old so I assumed I wouldn’t get any response. To my surprise, I got a returned phone call from a
gentleman named Brian a short time later. I asked him about the storage box and he said he would send my
information on to the inventor of the system and he was sure he could help me. I think it was that same day
that I got a call from Doug Swarts, the inventor. He told me a little bit about himself and how this system came
to be, and hooked me up with a storage container.

Below is how I installed my container:
These are the Tools and hardware I used for the install.
This is the storage container and the 1 5/8” x ¾” strut channel I used for the stall.

This shows some marks on the strut channel to the dimensions needed to install two pieces from I-beam to I-
beam across the camper as well as four shorter pieces, two on each side to be bolted onto the I-beams to give
some separation to accommodate a hard piped gas line.
After
cutting the Strut channel, I needed to know where to install the storage container in relation to the pipe
entering the container. So, I started by dry fitting the 90 degree elbow into the cam loc fitting with the vent.
First I need to cut a hole for the vent.

After marking the location, I used a hole saw and cut a hole in the 90 degree fitting.
Hole cut and ready to dry fit once again.

Looks good.
Now it’s time to cut off the existing fitting

A little clean up

It is a good fit and I’m able to get a measurement to the storage container.
After finding the right location for the storage container, I cut away the plastic underpinning along the I-beam
where I need to mount the short pieces of strut channel.
WM80-1 8/17/16
After removing the plastic you can see the I-beam and the hard gas line I need to work around.
Now let’s start drilling some holes in the I-beam for the installation of the strut channel.

Bolting first piece of strut channel to the I-beam.
Installing the second piece using spring nuts inside the strut channel. The reason I have to add a second piece
is the bridge the hard gas you see behind the strut channel.
WM80-1 8/17/16
I installed the same two struts on the other side of the camper.
Now I’m installing the two long sections of strut channel across the camper.

Hanging brackets installed for the storage container.
Installing the storage container into the brackets. I will be plugging the hole on this side of the container to
keep road grime out.
WM80-1 8/17/16
Cutting a 4” hole into the side of the container, to receive to the dump pipe from the camper.
Gluing the 90 degree fitting to lineup with the hole in the container.

Finished product. The piece of plastic you see hanging down was being used to keep the tee fitting lined up
while the ABS glue dries.

I hope this was, at least, a little informative. I’m looking forward to using the system.

*A bracket system is currently under development and should be available before the end of 2016.
