CONNECTION IS KEY
Attending worship gatherings at Outlook on Sunday mornings is great, even essential. Getting connected to the people and purpose of the church is also essential.
This catalog is a tool to help make that connection happen.
SERVE AND SHARE ON A TEAM “He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join Him in the work He does, the good work
He has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.” Ephesians 2:10 (MSG)
Ministry Teams get the work of the church done—from preparing and serving food for church events, setting
up chairs, or playing instruments for worship services—Outlook accomplishes its ministry through teams.
Mission Teams go and make a difference in the community and world. They are extensions of Outlook that
share Christ’s love and message with people.
LEARN AND GROW IN A GROUP “You are members of God’s very own family …
and you belong in God’s household with every other Christian.” Ephesians 2:19 (LB)
Life Groups are the place to connect and grow at Outlook. In a Life Group you know and are known, you love
and are loved. Meetings take place in homes and restaurants and include Bible and book studies, prayer, service in the church and community and shared social activities. Sharing life as followers of Jesus is the purpose.
Study Groups gather folks eager to learn about a particular subject area—from books of the Bible (Genesis,
Romans, the Life of Jesus) to topical studies (godly parenting, financial stewardship, Christian worldview)—learning is the aim.
Activity Groups create opportunities for fellowship through participation in shared interests. While the
purpose is social, spiritual sharing and prayer is encouraged and expected.
Support Groups provide mutual care for people seeking to overcome a life challenge in a context of
understanding and encouragement. (Review group information to see if childcare is available for these groups.)
HOW DO I USE THIS CATALOG? Ask God to guide you. Look through the open ministry volunteer opportunities that Outlook staff and ministry leaders have identified. Check out all the group activities and opportunities, especially Life Groups. Dialogue with the team and group leader(s) listed and learn more. If you have any general questions, contact Betty Watkins, Administrative Assistant, at 335-6815 or [email protected]. When you are ready, make the connection! Attend a group meeting or work with a team. If your first try is not a good fit, give it another shot. For help or more information, Contact Carli Mellentine, Connection Ministry Assistant, at 335-6815 or [email protected].
