Bella Vista Charity Classic Pro-AmJune 22 - Country Club / Highlands Golf Courses Entry Fee: $525 per team (3 Players per team). You may register as a single ($175 entry) and be paired by the tournament director. The purchase of a Pro-Am team ($525) or individual player ($175) is eligible for charitable tax deduction under IRS code 501(C)3, Bella Vista Foundation EIN 45-3690216, in an amount to be determined. Each Pro-Am team will be paired with a WAPT and an APT professional player. Entry fee includes two invitations to the Monday evening Pro-Am Party & Silent Auction, tee prize, green and cart fees, on-course beverages, lunch and prizes for winning teams. *Additional Pro-Am Party & Silent Auction invitations may be purchased for $35.00 each.* Start Times: AM start times, rain or shine. Pro-Am Format: Modified Scramble format will be played. The Pros will play their own ball while the Amateurs will play a 3-Person Scramble. Teams will play from the best drive including either Pro’s drives. The best score on each hole from either one of the Pro’s or Amateur’s ball will be the Team score. Entry Deadline is Friday June 18. Metfield Kids Fishing Derby - May 15Our annual Kids Fishing Derby will be held at the Metfield Clubhouse pond on May 15. Local children between the ages of 3 – 15 are welcome to participate. Parents do not need a fishing license but must not aid children in reeling in fish. Participants must provide their own bait and tackle. The event starts at 8 a.m. and runs to noon. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. at the pond. Call the lakes department at (479) 855-5068 with any questions.

Kayak Demo Days - June 5Ozark Mountain Trading Company (OMTC) will hold their annual event June 5 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Lake Ann Park, 13 Windermere Ln. Over 2,000 boats to choose from!

Recreation NewsMetfield & Kingsdale Pools Open Saturday, May 29Summer fun at the outdoor pools starts Saturday, May 29. Both pools will be open daily from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. (weather permitting). Don’t forget to get your POA Activity Cards and Dependent Cards which will allow you free entrance. Without these cards a daily admission fee will be required.

Paddleboard Camp at Lake Avalon BeachJune 21 – 24 & July 12 – 15 • Monday–Thursday: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.Standup Paddle Boarding (SUP) Camp 2021 at Lake Avalon will be offered by SUP NWA - Adventurous Fitness. Camps are open to kids ages 6-17 that are proficient swimmers. Campers will learn basic SUP skills and techniques, including how to size the paddle, how to stand, types of paddling strokes, plus basic water safety. Programming includes open paddling, games, swimming and more. All participants are required to wear a PFD (personal flotation device) while on the board. The equipment provided is a board, paddle, leash, PFD, and daily snack. Fees are $140 for POA Members and $150 for Guests. 16 spots are available for each session on first-come, first-served basis. Registration forms are available at Riordan, Metfield and Branchwood or at: bellavistapoa.com/thingstodo/summer-activities Instructors are American Canoe Association SUP L1 certified and maintain CPR and First AID certifications. Rentals at The Marina at LakepointLooking for a fun outing? The Marina offers pontoon boats, a fishing boat, kayaks/paddleboards for rent. A one-hour deposit is required to reserve your boat. Call the Marina at (479) 855-8182 to reserve your boat. Note: The Marina is closed on Mondays.

The Beach at Lake Avalon Opens Saturday, May 29 The Beach at Lake Avalon at 105 Lancaster Drive features a beautiful sandy beach with swimming, stand-up paddleboard and kayak rentals, a picnic area, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits and more. The Beach opens for the season on Saturday, May 29. Don’t forget the VIP Lounge; the covered pergola sits right next to the water and the beach and can be rented for a ½ or full day. Small parties or family get togethers can enjoy the VIP Lounge which comes with lounge chairs, shade and a festive atmosphere. We have Kayaks / Paddleboards for rent and provide all the equipment and life vests and will even give you a short tutorial. Rental cost is $12/hour for Bella Vista POA Members or $14/hour for Guests of Members. The Beach is open 7 days a week, Monday – Friday 11 a.m.– 7 p.m. and Saturday–Sunday 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Entrance is free to each Member who has a valid POA Activity Card or Dependent Card (dependents over 6 must have their own card) or daily admission fee is required.

Boat Registration RenewalsBoat Registration Renewals are for an annual period (January 1 through December 31) and may now be paid by calling Member Services, (479) 855-8000 Option 2. Renewals of boat registration after March 31 are subject to a late penalty fee equal to 10 percent of the cost of their boat registration. Boat registration renewals are not prorated. First-time boat registrations are prorated. Temporary boat permits (weekly) are available through the Member Services Department.

Annual Boat Slip, Mooring and Storage Rack LeasingBoat slip, mooring and lease agreements are for an annual period (January 1 through December 31) and may be paid by calling Member Services, (479) 855-8000 Option 2. The lease is not assignable nor shall the space be sublet.

Vacation House WatchSummertime is vacation time! Vacation House Watch is a free service offered by Bella Vista Police Department to monitor residents’ homes while they are away on vacation. Stop by the department or call (479) 855-8030 to leave information, including your name, address, dates of your vacation, and other information, such as whether you leave a light on or if cars will be parked in your driveway. You will also be asked to provide a phone number in case of an emergency. Patrol officers will be given the information, and then when they aren’t busy answering calls, they will patrol your street and check your home.
