Examples of Cisco Storage Network Services include Storage Media Encryption Data Mobility Manager I/O Accelerator First of all, let’s quickly define “Integrated Networks.” For starters, it is a true system - combining multiple components in such a way to make the sum of its whole better than the sum of its parts. Here, Cisco combines high-function, proven software and high-performance, flexible hardware to meet the many service demands placed on the network. It is this combination of components -- software, routers, switches, mobility, security and unified communications -- that truly empowers the connected user, organization, and business. As a result, the integrated network provides comprehensive and consistent service delivery and protection across the entire network, simplified operations of the entire networked system, and ready adaptation and innovation within the network itself. Now, let’s take a look at how these systems drive business benefits within focused high-impact Cisco customer architectures and solutions. First, the architectures.

With an organization’s growth, flexibility should exist to easily incorporate different designs and solutions. <Click> The MDS 9148 may be deployed as an entry-level or departmental SAN switch. Typical application requirements that will be fulfilled are storage consolidation, common backup environment and simplified management. <Click> The switch is also deployable in a core-edge enterprise SAN architecture as a Top of the Rack switch. In this case the enterprise requirements of scalability, security and compliance and regulatory requirements may be fulfilled by this design. <Click> The third solution shown here is where the MDS 9148 could be used as a metro-SAN switch in a business continuity application between a primary and a secondary data center.
