Final Year Project : Remote alteration of an electronic current for use in an agricultural setting. Main Technologies used: Intel Galileo gen2, smartphone, android studio, Arduino IDE. Project Outline - This IOT system is designed to allow a farm worker open and close paddock gates using their smartphone through an app, providing the user has 3G on their device. The gates are opened by a motor, controlled by an Intel Galileo single board computer, programmed to direct the flow of an electronic current. It is able to do this by allowing the user to contact a website hosted on a webserver on the Intel Galileo. Third year project: Creating a RFID system to use as an automated sign in system. Main Technologies used: MySQL, Intel Galileo board, RFID reader/scanner, RFID cards, XAMPP, Apache, php. Project Outline- Working with embedded this system is designed to allow a student or member of staff to automatically sign in and out of college. This is done by walking through the radius of a RFID scanner with the student’s college ID which also acts as a RFID card. Personal: Team-work- I am competent and comfortable working in a team environment and have extensive

experience in both professional and volunteer teams. I have completed many college assignments as part of a group and have also lead teams in Surf2heal and a rugby team.

Problem-Solving – I have developed skills with regards to problem solving in both work and college assignments. I have further developed these skills through my volunteering with Surf2heal through working with Surf2heal with people with a wide variety of abilities to create an environment where problem solving is imperative.

Effective communication skills – I have hands-on experience communicating with people on a wide spectrum of verbal abilities, members of various cultures and diverse lifestyles. I have also utilized my presentation skills in both in house and external presentations.

Work Experience:1. The Groves (June 2016 most recent)

Bar and restaurant. Bar-tender I Bar-tender for large-sized venue. I am responsible for organising the premises to efficiently and safely accommodate large volumes of customers. I memorise and efficiently deliver large orders to a wide range of customers in a fast-paced environment.

2. Pundit Arena (June2015- Sept 2015)Pundit Arena is a web based company focused on the distribution of information regarding current sports and entertainment news. The primary output of the company is sport related articles. Lead Graphic designer/Web developer As the lead graphic designer I created graphics for articles and webpages related to different articles and areas of the

Pundit Arena team. This was achieved primarily through the use of Photoshop. These graphics resulted in a marked increase in web traffic for these articles.

I developed google tags for gaining revenue through advertising for use by the Pundit Arena webpage I engaged in minor coding for specific design implementations for the company’s web site – the primary output of this

company. I managed the accounts for Pundit Arena across a range of Social media accounts in order to increase traffic to the main

site.

3. TK Maxx (Nov 2014 – January 2015)TK Maxx is a large department store in Cork City primarily selling clothing and homeware. Store Associate I confirmed delivery stock and displayed this stoke on shop floor in order to increase sales. I worked as part of a close knit team to ensure that the merchandise was correctly displayed. Efficient communication was of paramount importance and I worked as a member of a close knit team to ensure store

was merchandised correctly.

4. STL Transport (summer (June-August) 2012-2014)Transport company focusing mainly on the distribution of stout. I delivered Guinness products around cork city and county. Stock taking of the product in both the base and within the deliveries was my responsibility. I memorised specific route for deliveries for replacement drivers.

Achievements and Interests:Large interest in different cultures, travel and people have backpacked extensively around South America and Europe.Volunteered with the annual Surf2Heal event – Ireland’s first surf camp for children with autism.Keen interest in electronic hardware repair.Avid interest in developing technologies, I watch tutorials, web seminars and follow tech companies on social media as well as code casually at home for experimentation.Member of Old Christians rugby team for 10 years, captained team for a period.
