At Mass today, you saw more people involved; more ushers, more fami- lies with children, more ministers, both lay and ordained, and all actively engaged and involved in service. You could probably feel it, the genuine excitement of all in- volved. They weren’t there because they had to be; they were there because they wanted to be, indeed, they were excited to be a part. Of course, that doesn’t really answer the question does it? What I just explained are the results of the root cause, or causes I should say. It would, of course, be easy to give credit to our new dynamic Pastor, Father Keith Garvin, for this new enthusiasm and involvement, but we would only be partially right, for there have been many be- fore him that have tilled, planted and watered the garden from which Father Keith now directs our harvest, the fruit of our success today! ADORATION Traditional Adoration Tuesdays 8:00 a.m. to 5:20 pm. We will have the Benediction and Reposition of the Blessed Sacrament at 5:20 p.m. followed by the Holy Mass at 5:30 pm.

COLLECTIONS Weekly Revenue Budget $16,076.00 Collection February 28th $18182.01 Variance $ 2106.01 RCIA: EVERY TUESDAY 7:00PM PARISH HALL Please continue to pray for the candidates as they move through the learning process of joining the church.

VOCATIONS CHALICE Please pray for the following families as they pray for vocations each week. The tradition of the Vocations Chalice is widespread across the coun-try. Each year at this time, JGS entrusts a special chalice to the care of a volunteer family during the weeks of Lent. Each week, a family will place the chalice in a place

of honor in their home and will pray for vocations using the prayer provided or one of their own choosing. The chalice is a visual reminder that the precious blood of Our Lord has saved and redeemed His peo-ple, and that He continues to call men and women to serve Him. While the individual families have the privilege of hosting the Vocations Chal-ice, the rest of us are called to pray for the family and for all of our young people to be alert to God’s voice in their hearts. March 13th Eric Lavespere (Cameron & Samuel) March 20th Olga & Daniel Trejo (Gabby, Bianca, Sophie)

A big THANK YOU goes to all of those who helped feed and deliver meals to people affected by the floods

especially Lisa Patrick, Charlynn Leehy, Aimee Anthony, Fr. Jim, Susan McKenzie, Jeff Harkey, and so many more.

We are very blessed at JGS to have so many people eager to “step up” and help when help is needed.

Continued from front page: Lord. Father Moore (I’ll always call him Father) laid a foundation of service and unwavering dedication to Jesus the Good Shepherd, The Catholic Church and its mission. He taught us all, some lessons more painful than others, by leadership, word and example! The second; The ACTS movement! This infusion of (A)doaration, (C)ommunity, (T)heology and(S)ervice into the hearts of women and men over the past 10 years, has brought us a new group of Catholics truly inspired to get involved in God’s work through our parish. ACTS is also a wonderful ambassador to other faith com-munities in Northeast Louisiana, giving others a glimpse of the true Catholic Church. Another positive consequence is an influx of new members to our parish and our church by those who found comfort and direction in the “Community”aspect of ACTS and are now liv-ing it out here at JGS. Our large RCIA group this year is a testa-ment to this. The last and maybe most notable contributors I’ll point out today, are our two Guardian Angels in heaven; Father David Richter and Monsignor Edmund Moore, both of which left this earth last year to join God in Heaven as our advocates. I don’t think there is any doubt we have both of these Angels interceding for us, protecting us and guiding us in all we do. May God continue to bless our parish, our church, and lead us all to His service! AMEN
