Why Serials Solutions?

Serials Solutions already works with a majority of library consortia, creating an easier path to data sharing among members

Overview of Consortia ERMS Vision

• In the Serials Solutions “Software as a Service (SaaS) model, true consortia management is possible:

– All data resides in the same knowledge base, so data about resources can be easily shared

– User accounts all reside in the same application, using group permissions to determine access and control

– Patron facing applications are tied directly to data at the individual library level, giving each library control over the user interface

Integration with local systems

Current• MARC records updating service integrates

ERMS directly with library catalogue• Data can be exported in CSV, XML, & SOH • XML API available

– First phase: linking– Second phase: sharing of financial data

Example ILS integration: SirsiDynix

Future Goals

• Consortia resources maintained at consortia level rather than by each library

• Member libraries will automatically have resources available with full license details without re-keying data

• Individual libraries can customize resources to fit local needs (proxies, subjects, coverage dates, etc.)

• Consortia communication needs are met using group alerts and notes

Development Road Map

•Group membership and account management

•Resource inheritance and combined data management

•Licenses and contacts data inheritance

•Notes and alerts group management

•Vendor stats by group
