conclude with a special performance by the Spartan

Marching Band. Please join us for a

unforgettable night of music and marching!

Parents/Students can now access Athletic Schedules as well as various school and district meetings through Schedule Star on the GLHS website!

If you have any questions on

when/where your group, student or sports team is meeting, click on the

Schedule Star link and search Grand Ledge Public Schools.

  • The 2014-15 school calendar is now available on the Grand Ledge Public Schools website. One thing you will notice is that there is something new. Approximately once each month there is a 2-hour delayed start. On those days we will follow the same schedule as we do when there is a 2-hour weather delay. These delayed starts were added to the school calendar in order to provide time for teachers to work together analyzing data and using that data to plan their instruction.

    Calculators for Student Use

Students in Algebra 2 and above are expected

to have a graphing calculator. Students in Algebra 1 or Geometry are expected to have a

scientific calculator. Calculators are available to rent from the Math Help

Room. Students first need to complete the rental form and have it signed by a

parent/guardian, then stop by room 315 to pick up the calculator. Scientific calculators

are available to rent free of charge. Graphing calculators require a $20 deposit and a $10 per trimester rental fee. Rental forms are

available outside the door of room 315.

GLHS Grief and Loss Support Group

Grand Ledge High School and Eles Place will once again be offering a grief and support group for Grand Ledge High School students for the 2014-2015 school year.

This program will be offered during the school day, once a week for 8 weeks for one class period each week, and is designed to help students who have experienced the death of someone important to them. In small group sessions, students will have the opportunity to talk about their feelings and experiences with others who understand, express their feelings through a variety of activities, and learn positive coping skills. Groups will be led by a trained Eles Place staff member, Tammy Shiflett, as well as John Mills, School Social Worker at Grand Ledge High School.

Eles Place is a non-profit community agency that has been offering grief support groups to children and their families for over 20 years. We at Grand Ledge High School are pleased to work together with Eles Place to offer this very special opportunity to your student. We know that children and teens can be deeply affected by the death of someone close to them, and we have seen childrens behavior, self-esteem, and school performance suffer as a result of their grief.

Interested students should get a parent permission form From Mr. Mills for their parents to fill out and return to the Student Services Department. Only the first 12 students to return this permission form will be able to join Eles Group. Please return this form as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please call Mr. Mills at 925-5528, or you can e-mail him at [email protected]
