Constitution Of the Associated Student Body of
Eagle High School (Last ratified on Friday, May 27, 2016)
We, the students of Eagle High School, in order to promote superior education, student participation, communication
between and among all students, teachers, administrators, the school board; and to secure a positive environment for
ourselves and all succeeding classes, do ordain and establish this Constitution of the Associated Student Body of Eagle High
School.
Article 1 - Student Government. Section 1. Definition and Purpose of Student Government
The name of this organization shall be the Student Council of Eagle High School.
The purpose of this organization is to serve as a communicative connection
between the student body and the administration of this institution, and to present
any problems or concerns of the general student body to the school and district
administration. In addition, student government shall promote leadership,
citizenship, and school pride.
Section 2. Prohibitions
No branch of the Student Council may pass any law or regulation that is ex post
facto, pass any law or regulation that is in violation of the Constitution of the
United States, the Constitution of the State of Idaho, or any local law or
ordinance; nor expend funds, except as prescribed and authorized by the school
administration.
Section 3. Student Council Meetings
All ASB / Student Council officers are required to take the Leadership Course
offered during the academic day. Student Council meetings will be held during
this time period, special meetings will be held during lunch. The ASB officers
and the Advisor will hold ASB Meetings on a weekly basis as decided upon
respectively.

Article 2 - Executive Branch. Section 1. Definition of the Executive Branch
The Executive Branch of student government shall be composed of the ASB Co-
Presidents, ASB Secretary, ASB Treasurer, Senior Senator and Junior Senator.
The ASB Co-Presidents shall preside over the Executive Branch. The present
student body, with the exception of seniors, shall elect the members. The
members’ term of office shall be from the Monday after the inauguration dinner
to the end of the academic year.
Section 2. Officers of the Executive Branch
Clause 1. All officers shall assume any duties assigned by the ASB Co-Presidents
or Advisor. All ASB officers shall fundraise $200.
Clause 2. ASB Co-Presidents.
The ASB Co-Presidents shall preside over student council meetings,
represent the Student Council as a whole, and act in a responsible
manner that positively influences others. The ASB Co-Presidents act as
parliamentary chairpersons, and shall vote only in the case of a tie.
Their vote shall only count as one vote to break the tie. The ASB Co-
Presidents will adhere to the following stipulations:
1. ASB Presidents will not serve on any committee
2. ASB Presidents will not directly engage in the planning or
preparation of any particular event. Their task is to facilitate.
They may offer suggestions, but implementation is to be
delegated
3. ASB Presidents will attend all formal, weekly meetings of the
standing committees
4. ASB Presidents will attend all formal meetings of the special
committees.
5. ASB Presidents will evaluate the committee chairmen on their
effectiveness in progressing toward, and achieving identified
goals.
6. ASB Presidents will ensure that accurate evaluations of
committee personnel are completed by committee chairmen
7. ASB Presidents will ensure that a timeline for every Student
Council event is established, adhered to, and adequate.
8. ASB Presidents will ensure constant rotation of bulletin boards
(no more than 3-weeks on any one board).
9. ASB Presidents will ensure daily engagement of all personnel
10. ASB Presidents will ensure that the same core group of people
will not be engaged in every activity.
a. ASB Presidents will ensure that all committee personnel
are tasked with equal amounts of responsibility
b. ASB Presidents will report to the Student Council
Advisor the failure of individual Student Council
members to engage, or follow through assigned tasks

11. ASB Presidents are expected to meet with the Student Council
Advisor as soon as possible following the conclusion of the class
period immediately preceding the commencement of the Student
Leadership class.
a. During this time ASB Presidents will inform the Student
Council Advisor of the progress made by the various
committees, dates of expected action, and any requests
for information
12. ASB Presidents will brief ASB personnel of all actions of ASB
Presidents so that they can assume tasking upon absence
13. In the event that an ASB President is absent, the order of ASB
succession will be followed.
a. ASB Co-Presidents
b. ASB Treasurer
c. ASB Secretary
d. Senior Senator
e. Junior Senator
14. If it becomes apparent that the ASB Presidents are not fulfilling
their duties as prescribed, the ASB Order of Succession will be
activated and the ASB Presidents will serve at the discretion of
the Student Council Advisor indefinitely.
Clause 3. ASB Secretary.
The ASB Secretary shall keep official minutes of all meetings, is
responsible for publication and distribution of agenda and minutes to all
members of the Executive Branch, Advisor, Senior Vice Principal and
Principal, and is responsible for the clerical business of the Executive
Branch.
Clause 4. ASB Treasurer.
The ASB Treasurer shall keep account of the ASB Council funds, oversee
the accounting done by the Class Treasurers for their specified class,
and approve all purchases of the ASB council. The approval or denial
for purchases may be overridden by a 2/3-majority Executive Branch
vote. The ASB Treasurer shall preside over the Student Council
Inauguration Dinner and Fund Raising.
Section 3. Sub Executive Branch.
Clause 1. Definition of the Sub Executive Branch.
The Sub Executive Branch of the Executive Branch shall consist of the
Historian(s) and the Communications Officer(s). The members of the
Sub Executive Branch shall work together to promote public relations
within the school and community. The ASB Co-Presidents shall preside
over the Sub Executive Branch. The members’ term of office shall be
from the Monday following the inauguration dinner to the following
spring appointment of newly elected officers..
Clause 2. General Duties.
All officers shall pay the required student council fees

Clause 3. Historian.
The Historian shall make a scrapbook commemorating the school year,
and keep students addresses after graduation . The Historian shall be
responsible for photographs of all activities (ASB, Sports and
newspaper) and prepare a reflection video of the year’s activities. The
Historian shall adhere to all deadlines.
Clause 4. Communication Officers.
There will be three persons assigned as the Communication Officers of
Eagle High School. These officers shall represent the school in the best
communicable manner possible, perform necessary correspondence for
the Student Council, and organize projects that will promote spirit
through out the school (i.e. recognition of organizations and activities,
...) They will also be responsible for locker decorations of all club /
organizations that will be representing Eagle High School at a
tournament or competition. These officers will keep a bulletin board of
upcoming events for the teachers.
Article 3 - Senate Clause 1. Definition of the Senate.
The Senate shall consist of the Senior Senator, Junior Senator,
Ambassadors, and the officers from the Senior, Junior, Sophomore, and
Freshman Classes. All members shall have voting rights within the
Senate. The Senior Senator shall preside over the Senate, and the Junior
Senator shall preside in the absence of the Senior Senator. The Senate
shall also sanction all organizations, and if necessary, establish a court
for impeachment proceedings. The members’ term of office shall be from
the end of the current school year to the following spring appointment.
Clause 2. General Duties.
All officers shall assume any duties assigned by the ASB Co-Presidents
or Advisor as well as fundraise as much money as the ASB Co-Presidents
and Student Council Advisor deem necessary. The class officers shall
likewise assume any duties assigned by their class presidents or class
advisors.
Clause 3. Senators.
There shall be two senators: one Junior Senator and one Senior Senator.
Both shall be elected by the Student Body and shall be from the class
they represent. The Junior and Senior Senators shall attend the first
Meridian District #2 School Board meeting and the first Eagle City
Council meeting of the month. The Senior & Junior Senator are
responsible for organizing the Homeroom Representatives and presiding
over their monthly meetings.
Note 1. Senior Senator.
The Senior Senator will plan bi-quarterly House of
Representatives meetings. The Senior Senator will organize
Spirit Shirt Sales.

Note 2. Junior Senator.
The Junior Senator will preside over all meetings and take over
all responsibilities when the Senior Senator is not present. The
Junior Senator will assist in Spirit Shirt sales.
Clause 4. Ambassadors.
There shall be three ambassadors: one Junior Ambassador and two
Senior Ambassadors. Both shall be elected by the ASB Student Council
and shall be from the class they represent. The Ambassadors will divide
up the schools in the valley into three zones. Each is responsible for
communicating with the schools in their zone. An open line of
communication is to be established and exchanging of ideas shall take
place. A minimum of six (6) visits per semester is mandatory.
Ambassadors will make at least four visitations in the first semester and
present findings at a student council meeting.
Clause 5. General Duties of the Class Presidents.
The Class Presidents shall represent their class in Student Council. They
shall also hold meetings with their class advisor and class officers once a
month to assure financial security for their class, promote school spirit
and unity. They are also responsible for informing the class advisor of
upcoming events for the class.
Note 1. Senior Class President.
The Senior Class President shall raise money for the cost of the
graduation ceremony, flowers, and diplomas, and to present the
school with a gift from the graduating class. At the end of the
year, it will be responsibility of the Senior Class President to
organize a Senior Assembly and Picnic, as well as all duties
involving graduation. The Senior Class President shall be in
charge of organizing a class reunion every five or ten years
Note 2. Junior Class President.
The Junior Class President shall be in charge of organizing the
Junior / Senior Class Prom.
Note 3. Sophomore Class President.
The Sophomore Class President is charge of organizing the
Sophomore Class officers to provide assistance with the Junior /
Senior Class Prom.
Note 4. Freshman Class President.
Their goal is to also help provide for financial stability for their
class, and to raise as much money as the ASB Co_residents and
Student Council Advisor deem necessary.

Clause 6. Class Vice Presidents.
The Class Vice Presidents, in the absence of the Class Presidents, shall
act as President, fulfilling all of the President’s duties. The Vice
Presidents shall take charge of designing ways to create spirit within the
school, and shall be take charge of all spirit activities (i.e. Intramural
events, homeroom challenges, etc...) The Vice Presidents shall preside
over the Eagle High School Activities Council and represent the council
at all Student Council meetings.
Note 1. Senior Class Vice President.
The Senior Class Vice President shall be in charge of holding
Vice Presidents meetings regarding spirit activities and for
organizing the activities. He/she will preside over all Activities
Council meetings.
Note 2. Junior Class Vice President.
The Junior Class Vice President will attend all Activities Council
meetings and preside over the meetings in the absence of the
Senior Class Vice President.
Note 3. Sophomore Class Vice President.
The Sophomore Class Vice President shall be responsible for all
secretarial duties in regards to the Activities Council.
Note 4. Freshman Class Vice President.
The Freshman Class Vice President will be responsible for all
Treasurer and Communications officer duties of the Activities
Council
Clause 7. Class Secretaries.
The Class Secretaries shall take minutes at all class and Senate
meetings. The ASB Secretary shall collect, file and organize all minutes
and notes for meetings of the Senate. A meeting outline will be made
available for all Class Officers. A final draft of each meetings notes will
given to each Class Officer, ASB Secretary and Class Advisor.
Clause 8. Class Treasurers.
The Class Treasurers shall monitor the class funds, giving regular
reports of the class budget to the Class President. The Class Treasurers
are responsible for securing financial security for their class.

Article 4 - Student Council Corporate Section 1. Definition of the Corporate
The Corporate Student Council shall consist of a Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
overseeing the five departments which will include Production, Literature,
Marketing, Operations, and Finance. Each department will be overseen by a
Chief Officer under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer. The Corporate
Student Council is an equal component whose positions will be determined by
interviews with the ASB Officers. All interview positions shall hold equal
privileges in both sections of Student Council. The Chief Executive Officer shall
preside over Student Council Corporate, and the Chief Operations Officer shall
preside in the absence of the Chief Executive Officer. The Student Council
Corporate shall also sanction their separate organization, and if necessary, the
Chief Executive Officer may remove any officers deemed unfit. The members’
term of office shall be from the conclusion of the current academic year to the
following spring appointment
Section 2. General Duties
All officers and associates shall assume any duties assigned by the
ASB Co-Presidents or advisor and implemented by the Chief Executive Officer
(CEO). They shall also fundraise as much money as the ASB Co-Presidents,
Student Council Advisor, and CEO deem necessary
Section 3. Chief Officers
Chief Officers shall oversee and direct assignments given to their department.
Section 4. Removal from Office
If necessary, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) may by removed by 3/5ths vote of
the chief officers of Student Council Corporate and approval by the ASB
Officers. In the case of the CEO’s removal, the Chief Operations Officer shall
assume the position as leader of Student Council Corporate
Section 5. Requirements to Maintain Office
Clause 1. Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) shall preside over Student Council
Corporate meetings and represent the corporate branch of Student
Council. The CEO shall also attend meetings as requested by ASB. The
CEO will adhere to the following stipulations:
1. The CEO will have the final decision in the officers chosen
for each department, namely the COO, CLO, CFO, CMO,
and CPO
2. The CEO will not serve on any committee. However, they
may direct any department in place of the chief officer when
deemed necessary
3. The CEO may attend any committee meetings, or convene a
meeting with any officers when necessary
4. The CEO may propose any suggestions concerning the
structure, duties, and activities of Student Council Corporate
to the ASB Officers for approval as needed.

5. The CEO will present a monthly report on each committee
and their effectiveness to the Student Council Advisor
6. The CEO may remove any chief officer from their chosen
position if deemed unfit. This will be subject to approval by
the ASB Officers and Student Council Advisor
Clause 2. Chief Operations Officer (COO)
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) shall create the duty schedule for
the entire corporation. The COO is also in charge of overseeing all
operations of Student Council Corporate and shall direct Student
Council Corporate in the absence of the CEO
Clause 3. Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) shall keep a record of Student
Council Corporate’s funds, and oversee the accounting done by the
financial associates. They shall keep a record of all expenses and
incomes. They shall additionally approve monthly financial statements
at the end of each month.
Clause 4. Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) shall be the liaison between the
teachers and Student Council Corporate. Whatever staff desire to have
marketed throughout the school, the CMO will design and implement the
appropriate advertising required through the help of their branch.
Clause 5. Chief Productions Officer (CPO)
The Chief Productions Officer (CPO) shall construct appropriate
committees for events under the jurisdiction of Student Council
Corporate. They shall also help ensure the effectiveness of each
committee.
Clause 6. Chief Literary Officer (CLO)
The Chief Literary Officer (CLO) shall oversee the production of the
Student Council magazine as well as the corporate scrapbook and all
literary material related to the duties of Student Council Corporate.
Additionally, this department will be working in conjunction with the
marketing officers to help promote events. They will collect all media
associated with the scrapbook or magazine.
Note 1. Editor-in-Chief
An Editor-in-Chief shall be appointed by the Chief Executive
Officer (CEO). The Editor-in-Chief shall oversee the
publication of the Student Council magazine. They shall also
take over the position of Chief Literary Officer (CLO) if the
current officer is absent or removed.
Section 6. Associates
All Associates shall assist in the implementation and production of the duties
assigned by their respective chief officers. They shall also assist in any other
duties needed or assigned.

Article 5 - Requirements for Holding Office Section 1. Elected Offices.
To run for a Student Council Office:
1. Maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or better with no
“F” grade on the immediately preceding semester or current
semester high school transcript.
2. Must have at least 5 credits per semester.
3. Must follow all guidelines regarding student conduct as stated in the
Student Handbook.
4. Will adhere to the zero tolerance policy, drug/alcohol/tobacco
policy.
5. Have a petition on file, signed by fifty (50) students of the
candidate’s class , and approved by the vice principal of the class
(Seniors may not sign petitions.) Candidates running for an ASB
office, may have any Freshman, Sophomore, Junior sign the
aforementioned petition. It is the responsibility of the candidate to
make sure that all signatures are legitimate.
6. Have a character reference form filled out by each current teacher
and have a total average scoring of no less than 4 on the total of all
submitted character reference forms. A total average less than 4 will
render the candidate ineligible to seek elected office but does not
exclude the candidate from seeking an appointed (interviewed)
position with Student Council.
7. Be of dependable character as verified by a Vice-Principal. The
decision whether or not to authorize a candidate will be based on
teacher recommendations and administrative discipline files.
8. To run for one of the four ASB elected positions (ASB Treasurer,
ASB Secretary, ASB Senior Senator, ASB Junior Senator) the
candidate must have served in a high school student council for at
least one full, uninterrupted academic year.
9. All candidates for either ASB Co-President position must have a
minimum of one year prior high school Student Council experience
at Eagle High School. One of the two elected Co-Presidents must
have been enrolled in the Student Leadership Program of Eagle
High School their Junior year
10. All elected officers must be able to take the Student Leadership Class
for both fall and spring semesters. If a student meets all other
candidacy requirements and has been in Student Leadership
previously, but cannot take the scheduled class period, other
opportunities to be involved in Student Council will be provided.
11. Have on file a signed Student Council Officer’s Agreement.
Section 2. Appointed Offices.
In running for an office in the Sub Executive Branch, one must first meet the
general requirements for holding a Student Council office. No Petition is
necessary. The Communications Officers, Ambassadors, and Historians are
appointed by the ASB Officers by means of an interview. These offices are open

to any incoming freshman, sophomore, junior or senior that meets the
aforementioned requirements. They shall be appointed in the spring by the
newly-elected ASB Officers.
Section 3. Requirements to Maintain Office.
If the requirements for these offices are not upheld, the Student Council member
shall be:
1. given a warning and the officer must give an oral explanation to
the ASB Officers for their conduct or actions.
2. put on probation for nine (9) weeks and must petition the Senate,
Advisor and Principal for re-admittance. An oral explanation
will be given to the Senate and the Senate will vote on re-
admittance.
3. if in the case of grade requirements, the student will be
suspended from student council office duties until a 2.5 grade
point average is achieved and/or all grades of “D” or “F” on
the student’s progress report are raised to a “C” or higher.
Students will have two weeks to raise their grades after a low
grade report.
4. impeached.
Clause 1. Duty Fulfillment.
ASB / Student Council members shall fulfill all respective duties outlined
in Article 1 – 4. ASB / Student Council members are responsible for the
following:
enroll in leadership class
actively participate in meetings and activities.
following through all given assignments and duties.
following the guidelines set in Article 5 Sect 1 & 3.
fundraise as much money as the ASB Co-Presidents and Student
Council Advisor deem necessary.
confidentiality.
Clause 2. Absences.
ASB / Student Council shall be present for all activities, meetings and
leadership class. ASB / Student Council members are allowed to have a
total of 7 absences (excused or unexcused) from school or assigned
Student Council activities. Medically excused absences will not be
counted.
3 absences ~ warning.
5 absences ~ parent contact.
6 absences ~ probation.
7 absences ~ removal from office.
Note 1. Truants.
Truants are unexcused absences. A truant will occur when a
Student Council member is late 1/3 of the activity time, or is
absent without excuse. A Student Council member will be
removed from office and put on probation if two (2) truants are
obtained. A warning will be given on the 1st truant.

Article 6 - Elections Section 1. Student Council Elections.
Clause 1. Election Dates.
The ASB and Class Elections shall be held in the spring semester
on dates approved by the administration. The ASB elections will
occur first followed by the individual class elections beginning
with the Senior class elections and concluding with the Sophomore
class elections.
Clause 2. General Elections.
A video broadcast shall be seen, at which all candidates will give a
speech in the accordance with predetermined regulations. Ballots with
the names of all candidates shall be passed out during second-period
classes following the video broadcast. Only current Juniors,
Sophomores, and Freshman are eligible to vote. The ballots will be
tallied by those appointed by either the administration and/or Advisor.
The winners shall be announce by the end of the day on which the
general election is held.
Clause 3. Election Campaigning.
Candidate election campaigning will commence immediately
following the conclusion of the academic day on the Friday
immediately preceding the date of the election and will conclude
immediately following the conclusion of the academic day on the
date of the election. All campaign rules and regulations set forth
by the school administration and Student Council shall be
followed. The Student Council Advisor will approve all speeches.
Any violation of the campaign rules and regulations will be
grounds for the forfeiture of a candidate’s candidacy.
Clause 4. Election Voting
Only one election will take place for each of the ASB, Senior,
Junior, and Sophomore elections. The winning candidate shall be
the candidate who receives a plurality of the votes cast in that
election.
Clause 5. Write-ins.
Write-in candidates will not be considered in tabulating the votes. All
candidates must have their completed petition turned in by the
designated date.

Article 7 - Impeachment. Section 1. Grounds for Impeachment.
Any infraction of the Eagle High School Handbook rules, an exhibition of
objectionable conduct for a Student Council Member, and/or the Requirements to
Maintain an Office are not upheld.
Section 2. Impeachment Procedures.
If necessary, the Senators may establish a court, comprised of members of the
Senate, House of Representatives, and Executive Branches, to commence
impeachment proceedings. Any member of the House of Representatives or
Senate may propose the impeachment of the court. A 2/3 vote is required in the
initiating body before the court will commence an impeachment. A ¾ vote in the
court is needed to impeach. The administration shall have the power to override
any impeachment ruling. If found guilty; a Student Council member shall be
relieved of his / her position and duties.
Section 3. Trial Procedures.
Clause 1. Court Judges.
The court shall consist of three members from each legislative body: the
Senate, the House of Representatives, and the Executive Branch,
excluding the Junior and Senior Senators. The court shall be presided
over by the Senior Senator.
Clause 2. Time Specifications.
The accused member shall be informed of the charges against him / her.
The charge will be read by the Junior Senator, and the trial will begin.
The accused shall be given ten (10) minutes to explain or defend. Five
(5) minutes shall be allowed for comments from the members in support
of the charge and five (5) minutes will be allowed for comments from the
members opposing the charge. Maximum time restrictions may be
lengthened by the motion with a second to extend the debate. Testimony
from the general student body may be heard, and each testimony may be
three minutes in length.
Clause 3. Voting Procedures.
At the end of the trial, a secret ballot will be taken by the members of the
court. The members shall write “aye” (guilty of charge) or “nay” (not
guilty of charge.) The Junior Senator or other chosen Senate member
shall collect and count the ballots. The count will be monitored by the
Student Council Advisor. The results of the vote shall be announced by
the Senior Senator. A ¾ “aye” vote shall be necessary to impeach a
member.
Clause 4. Impeachment of Senators.
If a Junior or Senior Senator is being tried or is unable to attend the
trial, the Senate shall elect a substitute within its body to replace the
Senator.

Article 8 - Vacancies and Resignations. Section 1. Presidential Succession.
The ASB Co-President will not be succeeded. All class Presidents shall be
succeeded by their Vice Presidents.
Section 2. Officer Succession.
Clause 1. General Officer Succession.
All other vacancies or resignations shall be filled by a special screening
of candidates, through the Student Council. These candidates must meet
all qualification requirements, as noted in Article 5, Section 1. The ASB
Officers shall appoint the candidate for the vacant office.
Article 9 - Clubs and Organizations. All Clubs and Organizations at Eagle High School must be founded upon the furtherance
of Academics, Athletics, and Citizenship in order to promote and preserve a positive
bond between Eagle High School and the Community. All Clubs and Organizations at
Eagle High School must be approved on a yearly basis.
Section 1. General Requirements.
A club or organization must:
a) have at least ten (10) active members (defined as clearly
contributing members, not simply listed on a roster) or special
permission from the Activities Director
b) minutes and attendance must be accurately maintained for ALL
meetings.
c) must accumulate at least two (2) hours of community service per
member (service activity as an extension of the club’s
principles.)
d) clubs or organizations are bound by regulations to design a
constitution approved by the following person(s): Eagle High
Student Council, the building principal and the District #2
School Board.
Section 2. Support Groups.
Support groups are not classified under clubs or organizations. The mandate to
form groups of this nature require advisors of professional credentials,
counselors, psychologists, etc… not within the scope of the Student Body of Eagle
High School.
Section 3. Criteria.
The role of Eagle High School for approving clubs is to enhance student life on
campus. Therefore, no club or organization will be approved that is founded on
any of the following bases:
a) promotes criminal or delinquent conduct.
b) encourages bigotry or hatred toward others.
c) involves human sexuality.
d) targets any religious faith in a negative manner.

e) Disrupts the learning environment of Eagle High School.
Clause 1. Harassment or Abuse.
A club or organization cannot harass or abuse any member of the
student body of Eagle High School, nor can any club or organization
violate the authority of the school. All clubs and organizations are
subordinate to the rules and regulations as established and set forth in
the Eagle High School Student Handbook.
Article 10 - Amendments A member of the Executive Branch, or Senate may present constitutional amendments in
writing during a meeting of one of these legislative bodies. Amendments must be
approved by a 2/3 vote in each of the bodies. Specifications within the amendment will
establish when the amendment will go to trial.
Article 11 - Ratification. Section 1. Legislative Ratification.
The Constitution Committee will revise and update the Constitution and bring
any suggested changes to the student council for ratification. All changes must
be ratified by 2/3 vote of the student council. All proposed changes will be
brought before the student council in a formal meeting or Constitutional
presentation.
Section 2. Executive Ratification.
If both houses pass this constitution, it shall be forwarded to the ASB Executive
officers for a vote. If a ¾ approval vote is attained, then this Constitution shall
be sent to the Principal of Eagle High School for administrative approval. If
vetoed, this Constitution shall be amended and the process will be repeated. If
signed by the principal, this document shall become the Constitution of the
Associated Student Body of Eagle High School.
Article 12 - Sanctions for Criminal Offenses. Section 1. Definition
In regards to criminal offenses and charges occurring on or off school grounds,
regardless of the time of the offense or charge, EHS Student Council enacts the
following provisions regarding such offenses and charges.
Section 2. Crimes committed by Student Council Members
If a crime is committed by a member of Student Council, a meeting regarding
consequences will be held by the ASB Co-Presidents, the individual’s Class
President, and the Student Council Advisor. The consequences will be
determined by the severity of the crime(s), the individual’s remorse, as well as
the individual’s willingness to offer restitution. These consequences include
sanctions up to, and including impeachment proceedings outlined in Constitution
Article 7.

Section 3. Crimes committed by ASB Co-Presidents
If a crime is committed by an ASB Co-President, the members of Student Council
in attendance of the meeting determining consequences will consist of the second
ASB Co-President, the members of ASB, and the Student Council Advisor. In the
case of a Class President being implicated in a crime, the same members
described in Section #2 will be present with the replacement of the Class Vice
President instead of the Class President.
Section 4. Determination of Severity
The severity of the consequences determined by the meeting participants will be
increased as a result of information identifying further criminal offenses and
charges. Repeated offenses and charges will be met with increasingly severe
consequences.
