UNLOCK YOUR POTENTIAL.IT STARTS HERE.

Ben always liked the idea of being pushed; from competing as a national bodyboard champion at age 16 to changing sports and becoming an international karate champion. Setting goals was always a priority for him, a skill he now applies to his own plumbing company.

I STUDIED AND GRADUATED FROM Certificate III in Plumbing and Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services (Operations Stream) at St Leonards Campus.

I WORK AT Hansen’s Plumbing (Owner)

MY EXPERIENCE“When I started my Certificate III and apprenticeship at the Northern Sydney Institute it was a class full of people that had goals and ambitions to run their own company. I knew straightaway that I wanted to start my own business too.”

BEING MY OWN BOSS“The best part of being your own boss would be setting goals, achieving them and really just taking yourself and your career as far as you can.”

MY FREEDOM“I like the fact of driving around in my own van and getting to work with my brother close to the coast and home. If I won the lotto next week I would still be a plumber.”

BEN HANSEN

I always thought I would be working for someone else. That was, until I enrolled at the Northern Sydney Institute. Now, I’m the boss.

Located on Sydney’s Upper North Shore, our Hornsby Campus is set in scenic bushland. The Campus specialises in trades, information technology, floristry and graphic design, with multiple exhibition spaces open to the public.

Our Learning and Innovation Campus is located at St Leonards. It lies between the major commercial business areas of North Sydney and Chatswood.
