CONSULATE GENERAL OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA

VANCOUVER, B.C. CANADA

A message from the Consul General of Korea

in Vancouver

I would like to welcome all the participants, families, and spectators as they partake in

the 2021 Korean Consul General Cup. This

marks the Korean Consulate’s

fifth

time

holding this event with the BC Taekwondo Federation. I offer my sincere gratitude the

BC Taekwondo Federation and the superb referees for all their work to make this

event successful.

Last year, we transitioned this event to a virtual format for the first time ever due to the pandemic and

saw

hundreds of people across Western Canada participate and demonstrate their dedication to Taekwondo.

I

am pleased to be welcoming you back to compete in-person as things begin to return to normal.

This event

will serve

as a chance to bring the community together after a long time apart, to enjoy this wonderful part

of Korean culture.

Thank you to all those who are participating as athletes, and to those supporting them in the stands. I hope

this event provides some fun, entertainment, and cultural connection as we come together as a community.

My best wishes to the athletes as they embark in this competition.

Sincerely,

Byung-won Chung

Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Vancouver
