Calor Gas is talked about as an alternative to central heating with no consensus as to whether its cheaper or more eective. The price of both gas and
accessories was a common theme throughout the search but there were only a few strong complaints about over-pricing. Discussions about cooking
with Calor usually centre on barbeques and gas stoves used for camping or yachting. Safety issues concerning Calor were represented by a small
number of results, with carbon monoxide from camping stoves and the Essex Calor Gas terminal leakage being two examples.

London has the single largest population of people talking about Calor Gas which is
not particularly signicant as it is also the largest population centre in the UK. After
these top four locations a fairly even spread of areas are represented including a
wide range of rural areas. It is notable that a a number of locations primarily associ-
ated with wealthier middle class residents came up; Harrogate, Bath and Chelten-
ham being examples.
Gas canisters constituted nearly half of all products mentioned which, as they
are used for heaters and cookers, is consistent with the most prevalent dis -
cussion topics. Likewise, the next three most talked about products continue
this trend as they are used for either heating or cooking.

Individuals and businesses talking about Calor Gas closely reect groups which
would need to purchase Calor products. Charter yacht companies and marine sup-
pliers discussed Calor Gas heating and cooking products used on vessels while prop-
erty developers and engineers also have to work with Calor Gas. The retired talked
about Calor Gas for two clear reasons, either they were concerned with keeping
warm during the winter or were thinking about outdoor recreational activities like
camping, sailing or caravan touring. Sectors listed other than the four above also
had clear links to Calor usage. They included re ser vice, haulage and camping
supply.
The search used to form this analysis ran on 1 August 2011, focused on global english
language content and produced XXXX results, 281 of which were relevant. A 'result'
refers to the raw material our system generates when it scours the Internet. A
'relevant result' is a result that is deemed relevant to the subject of the analysis. 'Data'
refers to a rened relevant result - a result that has been considered, and topics and
values applied to produce a piece of data. The 281 relevant results used in this analy-
sis produced 757 pieces of data, a ratio of 2.69 pieces of data per relevant result. It
should be noted that data is not linear, and not every result provides data to every
topic. The 'n' value (n = X) indicates the volume of data used in answering each topic.
Overall sentiment was overwhelmingly neutral. Those who stated that they hated or disliked Calor Gas mainly
did so mainly because of cost-related issues and frequent price rises in particular. It could be of some concern
that there is more negative sentiment than positive overall. However, complaint issues such as over-pricing,
are not overriding and negative sentiment still only accounts for 6.8% of all discussion found in the search.

... (the best thing ever!!) a
calor gas heater. It just gets
wheeled... was perishingly cold
(hence the calor heater) and
cost a king's...
The rst winter we were
here we used only calor gas
heaters, as we had to wait 4 months
for the electricity to be connected,
and we kept reasonably warm
in quite a large house, with on
heater upstairs and one
down. ...
