The Morris Street Complete Street Plan proposes:
• Continuous pedestrian and bicycle connections along Morris Street between the future Eagle Creek and
White River Greenways
Improved sidewalks, street trees, medians and crosswalks at key intersections;
Curb bump-outs and planters to define parking zones and reduce crosswalk width;
Alternative stormwater management practices;

Morris Street Complete Street Plan
The Morris Street Complete Street Plan proposes:
Enhanced transit stops;
Bicycle connection to the White River Greenway trailhead to be constructed in 2011 at I-70 and
Kentucky Avenue;
Rerouting truck traffic and the reallocation of travel lanes to allow bicycle and pedestrian facilities within existing right-of-way; and
Purchase of right-of-way (or donation) from major institutions such as IPL to incorporate pedestrian
accommodations and minimize the removal or relocation of major utility poles

Alternate truck routes:• From the west: exit I-70 at Holt Road. Exit/use Tibbs Avenue• From the north: use Washington Street (W) or Oliver Ave (E)• From the east: use Kentucky Ave• South: use Minnesota / Kentucky Ave

Key Transitions:1 – Eagle Creek Greenway Gateway: gateway node; connect bicycles and pedestrians to greenway system
2 – Tremont Street Gateway: transition from multi-use path to separated bike sharrow and sidewalk
3 – Belmont Village Mixed-Use Center Gateway: transition from 4 lanes to 2 lanes with dedicated parking
4 – Harding Street Intersection Gateway: improved pedestrian connectivity to Health Center and reasonable accommodation for WB50 trucks
5 – Kentucky Avenue Gateway: vehicular lane transitions, transition from bike sharrow to multi-use path
6 – White River Greenway Gateway: gateway node; extend bicycle and pedestrian facilities over the bridge
