Student Mid-year Reports and Student Led

Conferences (SLCs).

During these last few weeks of Term 2, teachers are preparing Reports (to be issued on Thursday June 18

th)

and supporting students as they prepare for the Student Led Conferences (held in the last week of term).

This is such a busy and important time of the school year, a time for full attendance and high levels of student participation.

We hope that all parents will be able to attend the Student Led Conferences and share with their children the learning achievements to date and goals for the second half of 2015.

Prep 2016 enrolments.

We are currently confirming Prep enrolments for 2016 and have been very pleased with the strong response from the local community, who are seeing Mano as a school of choice.

Please encourage families to complete the required enrolment forms (available from the General office or Mano website) if you know they are seeking 2016 placements.

http://www.manifold.vic.edu.au/enrolments/how-to-

enrol/

Current families also need to complete this paperwork, even if they have children already enrolled and attending Mano.

Notes for excursions, camps and sporting activities.

Just a reminder to parents that permission notes for activities such as these need to be returned as per the dates advertised and certainly prior to the day of the event for effective planning purposes.

Often the names of students attending sports events need to be known and recorded, numbers given to venues, appropriate staffing levels confirmed, etc prior to the day.

Students who arrive on the day of the event with their permission note will miss out, unless there are exceptional circumstances and late additions are actually possible.

Queen’s birthday holiday.

I hope families have an opportunity to enjoy this long weekend and a longer break form work and school routines.

No assembly will be held next week, as classes resume at 9 a.m.; Tuesday June 9

th.

Some reminders for students:

Full school uniform is expected every day, cyclists must wear their helmets and litter needs to go in the bins.

Let’s all look like we belong to Mano, be safe coming to school and take greater pride in our school environment!

Lets keep Unleashing Potential Barry Rowland Principal

Art Award this term. Each week one student

will receive a $20 Kaisercraft voucher. This

week’s Art Award goes to:

EMILY BLISS - For working skilfully ,

cheerfully and creatively on her Indonesian

puppet!

As in last year, we will again be using the internet based system, Parent

Teacher Online (PTO), to coordinate Student Led Interviews. Access will be

via the school website or you can receive a secure link via email that when

clicked, will log you straight into PTO. This new feature will bypass the login

screen and save you having to remember another password!

Interviews will be conducted from Monday 22nd June to Thursday 25th June. Times for

your child’s class teacher will be available online from Friday 5th June at 4.00pm via the

school website www.manifold.vic.edu.au or by clicking on the link via email. Bookings will

close on Friday 19th June at 4pm. Please ensure the school has your updated email

address.

Procedures for signing your child in and out of school

As you may have noticed we now have a new sign in/out system at the office. An iPad has

now replaced the signing in and out books. We will be available to help those who would

like it. The same procedure as always still applies: If your child is late to school, you sign

them in and collect a “pass in” card to give to the teacher. If you need to pick your child up

early, you will need to come to the office to sign them out and take a ‘pass out’ card down

to their classroom. We understand that if you have a child down in the Middles/Seniors

area, this can be frustrating but we need to ensure that we keep our students safe.

Art News

A big thank you to all those who send along

meat trays and other bits and pieces for the

Art room. Keep the meat trays coming! We

are also looking for plastic lids, eg. Milk

bottle and juice bottle tops, 2 litre washed

plastic milk/juice bottles, and 6 old bike

wheels without tyres and tubes.
