Lesson Introduction/Guided practiceThe lesson is introduced by the teacher by using a

power point explaining what antonyms are. It has examples of sentences with antonyms and the teacher helps the students identify the 2 antonyms in the sentence. Then, there is a section where the students can go up to the smart board and circle the antonyms in a sentence. The teacher guides them by explaining why or why not they chose the correct answers.

Card Game (on wiki)Teacher hands out a card to each student. These

cards contain words that are antonyms. Students will then need to stand up and find their partner (their antonym). The teacher then reviews with the students to check if they partnered up correctly.

will have to read a sentence and look for the antonym of the underlines word.

the week as they follow along on their books. After they listen to the story, they will look for words that they can find an antonym for.
