INTRODUCTION ROTHLEY BURN® , RB® & BURN® ranges of conduits and fittings products are OEM manufactured by B.C.M.S.® BURN CABLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM established since 1992.

Products available in this catalogue are manufactured to the highest quality according to the relevant standards mention. In order to maintain product consistency, the company employs a strict set of QC discipline and procedures that are implemented at various stages of manufacturing program, from raw material selection through the inspection process.

As a result of the company’s quality policy, B.C.M.S® BURN CABLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM products are confidently and widely installed in major projects throughout the world. Electrical steel conduit systems are designed specifically with global specifications in mind ensuring absolute functionality in a variety of demanding environments, A well-designed electrical conduit system provides mechanical protection and electrical safety to persons and property with the capacity for future expansion and changing conditions.

A significant market differentiator in choosing steel conduit systems is the internal friction of the walls in contact with the wires. The higher the friction the shorter the distance wires can be pushed or pulled. BURN® conduit systems are dean and even. Notably, the conduit's internal beads are removed by manual scarfing and the fittings interiors are scrap free, and sharp edges removed enabling a secured and easy wire pulling and pushing.

MAXIMUM CORROSION PREVENTION

ROTHLEY BURN® conduits are hot dipped galvanised withmore than 60 microns of zinc coating. To protect the zinc coating from white rust, the surface is treated with chromatesolution.BURN® conduits are of the highest grade able to withstandextreme conditions. They are ideal for heavy industries likeoil and gas, petrochemical and infrastructure projects likeairports, underground transport, seaports, commercial and residential buildings.

CABLE CAPACITIES OF CONDUIT

The following table give guidance on the calculation of the number of single core p.v.c insulated cables which can be located in various sizes of conduit.

The tables deal with two particular cases.1. Single-core p.v.c insulated cables in straight runs not exceeding 3 meters in length.2. Single-core p.v.c insulated cables in straight runs exceeding 3 meters in length or in runs of any length with bends or sets.

STRAIGHT RUNS NOT EXCEEDING 3 METERS IN LENGTH

For each type of cable being used obtain the cable factor from table1. Sum all the cable factors and compare with the conduit factors given in Table 2.

The conduit sizes which will accomodate the cables are those with a conduit factor equal to or greater than the sum of the cable factors.

STRAIGHT RUNS EXCEEDING 3 METERS IN LENGTH OR RUNS OF ANY LENGTH INCORPORATING BENDS OR SETS

Refer to Table 3 to obtain the cable factor for each type of cable being used. Sum all the cable factors and compare with conduit factors given in Table 4 for the relevant length of run and the number of bends and sets in that run. The conduit sizes which will accomodate the cables are those with a conduit factors equal to or greater than the sum of the cable factors.

Cutting, threading and bendling of BCMS ® conduits can easily be done in the field or shop using a variety of standard equipment. Cutting leaves a sharp edge or burrs on the inside of the conduits and must be removed by reaming.This is to avoid cutting into the insulation when the conductors are pulled into it.
