WELCOME LETTERContents

Dear Competitors, and parents

Thank you for joining a series of activities in the Hong Kong International Music Festival and congratulations to our finalists for entering the Final Round Competition.

The 6th Hong Kong International Music Festival has been held over 150 Regions across the world during April to July this year with more than 80,000 Competitors in various divisions. Under strict selection and screening, around 4,000 finalists are eligible to join the final round and the Music Camp.

To ensure the competition be conducted in a fair and open manner, the jury list will be announced only after 10 August before the Music Festival. Jurors are informed of the divisions they will be adjudicating upon arrival to Hong Kong and strictly follow the judging guidelines. I believe our judges will fully cooperate with us. Competitors are also requested to comply with our staff to ensure the smooth operation of the festival, respect the regulations as well as the judges’ decisions.

With your persistent and diligence in devoting enormous time for music, it is your ac-complishment for reaching to this HKIMF Final Round stage, but you should be thankful to your parents and teachers who devoted full effort and love to you, no matter what the results would be. Friendship comes first, competition comes second. A competition is just a small part of life. Win or lose, depends on how much you devote and enjoy the entire process. I wish all Competitors could appreciate meaningful life while enjoying beautiful music. In the coming week, we look forward for your active participation in various campsite activities, make new music friends, and have a good time during the music festival. Then you can be a forever winner.

The weather in Hong Kong is very hot, you should take care of yourself, drink water regularly and reduce outdoor activities. If you feel unwell, please seek help from the festival staff. For emergencies, you can call the Police at 999. (avoid using this hotline for non-emergency matters)

Wish all Competitors and their families good health and fortune.
