The Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) has officially recognized Warren County Community College’sDental Assisting program as meeting the National Entry Level Dental Assistant education eligibility, which willallow our graduates to sit for the NELDA certification examination. DANB’s NELDA certification is composedof three component exams: Radiation Health and Safety (RHS); Infection Control (ICE); and Anatomy, Morphol-ogy and Physiology (AMP). Students must pass these three component exams in order to be eligible for theNELDA certification. This is an important stepping stone towards future CDA certification.

DENTAL RADIOLOGY DEN626A1This 70-hour program is approved by the NJ Radio-logic Technology Board of Examiners and includes the following: processing, quality assurance, radiation bi-ology and safety, radiographic interpretation, and intra and extra oral exposure techniques. The laboratory portion (20-hours) includes mannequin simulation. The clinical portion (25-hours or until competencies are fully met) will be obtained through patient experience in a private dental office that has been identified by the student and approved by the NJ State Department of Environmental Protection. Upon successful comple-tion of this course, students are eligible to sit for their licensure exam. PHARMACY TECHNICIAN PROGRAM ALH623A3This comprehensive 50-hour program will prepare students to work as a pharmacy technician in a retail or other pharmacy setting and to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s PTCB exam. Course content includes: pharmacy medical terminology, the history of pharmacy, the pharmacy practice in multi-ple environments, pharmacy calculations and mea-surements, reading and interpreting prescriptions and defining drugs by generic and brand names. Through classroom lecture and hands on labs, students will re-view dosage calculations, drug classifications, the “top 200 drugs,” I.V. flow rates, sterile compounding, dose conversions, aseptic technique, the handling of sterileproducts, total parental nutrition (TPN), dispensing of prescriptions, inventory control and billing and reim-bursement. CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANTA Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) assists pa-tients with quality of life needs, under the super-vision of a professional nurse. Upon satisfactory completion of this 100-hour program the student is eligible to take the NJ State Certification Exam (additional fees of $76 payable to “PSI” required). Employment opportunities include long term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living facilities, med-ical day care centers, and rehabilitation centers. ADDICTION COUNSELINGThis non-credit Certificate in Addiction Counseling program is primarily designed to prepare students with the practical beginning skills needed to support the recovery of persons with addictive disorders. Completion of these courses will satisfy the New Jersey Certification Board’s 270-hour requirements to be credited towards the CADC credentialing. Students must complete all of the career courses and the externship in order to be eligible for future certification. Career Courses include: Abnormal Psychology, Introduction to Addictions, Assessment and Treatment, Interviewing and Counseling Skills, Advanced Counseling Skills, Introduction to Social Work, Addictions Counseling, & Externship**Students need 3,000 hours of clinical time for certification. 300 hours of externship is already approved through the NJ Certification board to be credited towards the 3,000 required hours for certification. Placement in an outpatient setting is arranged through the College.

Senior citizens (60 & older) may be eligible for this discount. All course fees must be paid at the time of registration. Students are responsible to purchase required textbooks. Active Adult 55+ courses and third party vendor programs do not qualify for discounts.
