Weshallsumuptheperformanceprovidedbythisequipment:•ManagementofadecentralisedCashDeskstation•Managementofanon-laneCashDeskstation•Controlofanentry/exitlaneforsubscribers•Vehiclecount(COUNTER/DOOR)Wemustunderlinethatthecharacteristicsmentionedcanbeconfiguredindividually.Therefore,asingleunitcannotbeusedtosimultaneouslyperformtwoormoreoftheoptionsmentioned.Allfunctionsaremanagedfromtheelectroniccontrolunit,subordinatelywithrespecttotheParkLitesoftware,installedonapersonalcomputer.Thistypeofconnectionmakesitpossibletoexploitalltheservicesofferedbythesystem,thankstothesupportoftheparkingareamanagementprogram.Theunitscontrollingthedecentralisedcashdeskstation,theon-lanecashdeskstation,vehiclecounting,areinoperationonlywhentheyareon-linewiththeParkLitesoftware.Theindependentmanagement,i.e.withoutthesupportoftheParkLiteprogramandoftheconnectiontoadataControllerPC,wasimplementedstrictlyforthelanecontroloptionintheentry/exitmanagementforsubscriberusers.Thischaracteristicwasincludedintheappliance’sfirmware,inordertomanagetheentry/exitofsubscriberusersinaparkingarea,controlledbyasingleMasterunit,whichcanbeaPLMasterControlleroraMasterTicketDispenser(equippedwithacardreader).AlltheotherSlaveequipmentareconnectedtothisMastersviaanRS485datatransmissionnetwork.Inthis
ThePLControllerconsistsofamulti-functionalelectronicunit,whichmakesitpossibletocontrolvariousoptionsoftheParkLiteparkingsystem.

case,allthesystem’sunits,whetherMasterorSlavemustbeconfiguredandcontrolledfromthe“PLprogrammingKeyboard”.Forobviousreasons,independentparkingsystems,i.e.withoutamanagementprogram,haveperformanceitemsthatarelimitedcomparedtothosesubordinatedtoaPCdataControllerviatheParkLitesoftware.TheCobra5000P.Liteelectroniccontrolboard,installedinsidetheplasticbox,hasaseriesofinput/outputconnectors,whosefunctiondependsonthetypeofoperationalmodeselected.Thefunctionforwhichtheunitwasdesignedisacquired,andisthenappliedbythedeviceateverystart,bycontrollingthepositionofajumper,installedintheCN1connector:

IMPORTANT:theequipmentisalwayssuppliedsetasaCash-desk,i.e.withthejumperfittedinpositionB.Tovarythefunction,alwayspowerdowntheunit,beforechangingthepositionoftheabovejumper.Connectionwithtwomagneticloops,abletodetectthepresenceandtransitdirectionofthevehicle,isobligatoryforallmodelsconfiguredformanagingavehiclelane.Theengagementanddisengagementofthesesensors,allowstheCobra5000P.Litetoenabletheticket/cardreadingmodules,controlthecar’stravellingdirection,supplytheopening/closingcommandtothebeam,anddothecounting.Thelocationoftheloops,incommonwiththatoftheequipmentforcontrollingtransit,mustobservetothelettertheinstructionsinthefollowingchapters.Asexplainedabove,wheretheunitisdesignatedtoopen/closeavehiculargate,barrierswhichmanagetheparkinglogicmustalwaysbeused.Thevehicles-onlylanesmustbeprovidedwithappropriatehorizontalandverticalsignsindicating“transitbypedestriansforbidden”.Likewise,ifthereareanypedestriancrossingsonthelanes,allthebeamsmustbemadesafeandsuitablewarningsignsmustbeinstalled.Seethecurrentlegalregulationsonthematter(inparticularstandards:EN12453andEN12455).Toavoiddamagetotransitingvehicles,thebarriersmustbeequippedwithasafetyoption,whichmakesitpossibletoconnectthe“vehiclepresent”signal,receivedfromthetransitloop,toavoidaccidentalclosure.Thischaracteristicmustbeenabledalsowhenphotocellsinstalledunderthebeamareused.

2.3 POSITION OF EQUIPMENTRememberthatthecablessuppliedstandardwiththePLController-forconnectionoftheopticalscanner,receiptsprinter,userdisplay-eachmeasure2metres.Forthisreason,theunitmustbesecuredsothatthisequipmentcanbecorrectlypositionedandusedwithoutanydifficulty.Thiscriterionshouldbeappliedalsoforlocatingtheotherstationdevices,sothatthecash-deskoperatorcandohisworksmoothly.

•Beforeattemptinganyactiononthesystem,cutouttheelectricalpowersupply.•Installanomnipolarswitchupstreamofthepowersupplylineforthedevices,withcontactopeningdistanceof3mm.ormore.Weadviseyoutousea6Athermalbreakerwithomnipolarswitching.•Makesurethatadifferentialswitchwithathresholdof0.03Aisinstalledupstreamofthesystem.•Makesurethattheearthingsystemisexpertlymadeandconnecttoitthemetalparts.•Applyalltheinstructionsdescribedintheprecedingpointstoallthelanedevices,inadditiontothedecentralisedcashdesk.

5.1 P.LITE COBRA BOARD
ThePLControllerelectroniccontrolunitisdefinedas:Cobra P.Lite.Ithasspecificallycreatedfirmwareforcommandingalldeviceswhichneedtobecontrolledinthecash-deskstation.Theboardmanagessomeprocessesinafullyindependentway,whereasotherscanbesubordinatedthroughtheboardtotheParkLitemanagementsoftware.WemustunderscorethefactthateveryequipmentfortreatingticketsandcardsintheParkLitesystemusesthistypeofunit.Thevariousdevicesofthesystem(TicketDispenser,TicketReader,CashDesk,etc)makeuseofthiscontrolboardwiththesamefirmware.Thefunctiontowhichtheequipmentis
WheneverthePLControllerispoweredup,theCobraP.Litecontrolunitcontrolsthefunctiontowhichitisdelegated,throughthejumperfittedontheCN1connector,anditsetsitselftomanageallthespecifieddevicesforthatuse.Thereforethisjumpermustbecorrectlyfitted.ThePLControllerissuppliedwiththejumperalreadysetas“Cash-desk”:fig.7showsallthesettingswhichcanbecarriedoutonthemanagementunit.Thisfigureisincludedinordertobeused,ifthisboardhastobereplacedontheequipment.TheDecentralisedCash-desk/On-laneCash-deskoptioncanbeselectedandset,exclusivelywiththeParkLitesoftware

6.3.1 INSTALLATION
Therearetwomethodsformakingthem:•Layasinglesingle-polecablewithacrosssectionof1.5mm2,withdoubleinsulation,directlyinachasemadeintheexistingroadpaving.•FirstconstructacableductinPVCofthenecessaryshape,insertasingle-polesingle-insulationcablewithacross-sectionof1.5mm2insideit,andthenlaytheloopthusconstructedinsidethechase.NB.:inbothcases,respecttherequirementsspecifiedinpoint6.3.1.
6.3.3 NUMBER OF WINDINGSTheloopmustconsistofaprecisesetofwindingsofthecabledescribeduptohere,aroundtheperimeterinwhichitmustbeconstructed.Procedurefortheaboveoperation:insertthecableendfromthesharpedgeprovidingaccessintothechosenseat,nextrunitinsideforasetoffull‘circuits’,tomakeacoil,andthenmakethesamecablecomeoutfromthepointwhereithadbeeninserted.

9.3 RS485 LINE TERMINATION
OntheCobraP.Liteboard,thereisaconnectorwhichmakesitpossibletofita120OhmterminationresistorontheRS485datatransmissionline.Weshouldstressthatthisresistormustbeusedonlyiftheequipmentislocatedononeoftheendsofthelinesection.TheCN8connectorisusedforthispurpose.Figure19showstheinsertionofthischaracteristic.
