Life at the Inn
Since the earliest days of the Innkeeper, the hotel has been a central gathering place for our greatest moments. Wed-dings, reunions, business meetings or just traveling to see the world; at some point, we seek a respite at the Inn. The centerpiece to that renewal is the Food and Beverage experience. To that end, I devote my energies, pas-sions, spirit and skills to an ongoing quest to inspire great practitioners of food arts and memorable service that foster great convivial moments. Where will the path lead next….

VENDOR SELECTION
North American Summit February 2008 - in a nod to a triumphant city fighting
back from the devastation of hurricane Katrina, the
city of New Orleans hosted the North American Sum-
mit. President George Bush invited the PM of Canada
and the President of Mexico to the Crescent City for
a “State of the Hemisphere” event. The Windsor
Court was selected as the host hotel and Burgess
Newsom was appointed as the lead Liaison for White
House planners and Secret Service personnel.
Weddings
From the beautiful white sand beaches of the
Grand Bahamas Island to the ancient oak lined
lanes of southern Georgia, Newsom ‘s teams
have created magical weddings and phe-
nomenal weekend celebrations. Developing
packages, design elements and vendor part-
nerships that utilize destination specifics and

Selling the experience….creating the buzz
Whether by... Posters, postcards, flyers,
table tents, articles, ban-
ners, radio, duratrans,
Guest room television
spots or Bird of Prey.,
Tell the story….
“Over my career with Ritz-Carlton,
Le Meridian, Conrad and Sea Is-
land hotel companies, I can hon-
estly say that one of the top profes-
sionals I have ever had the pleas-
ure to serve under was Mr. Burgess
Newsom. I would be honored to
work with him again in the future,
should our paths come together
again.”
Michael Collins Director of F&B
Lodge at Ponte Vedra Beach
“...I feel that in the time
we spent together as colleagues
Mr. Newsom carried himself with
a level of professionalism that was
infectious and always inspired the
team to grow and further them-
selves in their careers. I owe my
position and title to the tutelage
and time spent and teaching by Mr.
Newsom.”
Gabriel Cogley, Director of F&B
Wentworth by the Sea
“I count Mr. Newsom as my fore-
most influence in my professional
career and can say I wouldn’t be
where I am without his trust and
belief in me. He showed me that
leaders can deliver tough messages
without being tyrants. I learned
that you can give world class ser-
vice while being financially re-
sponsible. I also now make sure I
spend time with my young leaders,
as developing them will be the key
to our long term success. “

That Moment of Truth…
We’ve all heard it before,...“ no man is an island, or
“none of us are smarter than all of us”...“There is no “I” in
T-E-A-M”. But... the plain simple truth of hospitality is,
that, at one pivotal point in time, when a single soul has
your business in their hands and attempts to provide in
that single moment, all of your thoughts, training, teach-
ing and time in what you hope is a semblance of ser-
vice. There is no escaping the fact that your destiny
and that of your business is in the hands of your worst
moment. In working with AAA and Forbes 5-Star/
Diamond teams we learn to push and promote excel-
lence throughout the organization and to empower
each and every associate with the ability to anticipate
our guests neeeds in order to prepare them to embrace
that “Moment of Truth”. To this end , I have dedicated
my passions and efforts in developing and mentoring
key leaders to be stewards of service excellence.
“...teach them well and let them lead the way”
