Convocation 2020 By Appointment

(June 24, 25 and 26 - 9:00 to 12:00 and 1:00 to 3:00)Kildonan-East Collegiate

• Please remember to practice social distancing! • Feel free to wear masks. • Be prepared for the weather (umbrellas and raincoats if raining to get to the

school) or protect your self from the sun when lining up for your turn!

Before the day:

Cap and Gown Pick Up:• Book your appointment to pick it up through the Conference Manager

(open from June 8-16)• Pick up on June 17th and 18th in the Open Area.• The cap is yours to keep.• Take the extra time before your convocation appointment to take any

pictures you want to take in your cap and gown with whomever you want. • You will not have time inside the school to do a photo shoot on the day of

your appointment• Make sure to take care of the gown and return it in good condition at your

convocation appointment.

Guests:• You can bring up to 4 people with you. Let them know your appointment time

and try to come in the same vehicle if travelling by car.

This is the area of the school convocation will take place.

5-10 minutes before your appointment time:

• If you are driving, park in the student parking lot.

• Come to the student parking lot door.

• There will be spaces marked for you to stand and wait for your turn to enter.

• There will be a greeter to usher you in.

• Please don’t arrive too early for your appointment.

Come on in!

On the other side of these doors, you are going to check in.

You will be given a piece of paper with your name on it. DO NOT LOSE THIS PAPER. You will be giving this to the person announcing you onto the stage!

Wear your cap and gown. The tassel should be to the left side of your cap.

Once in the hallway, we will ask you to go to the next available spot marked on the floor in tape or where directed.

Please advance down the hallway safely, keeping socially distance by using the marked spots, until it is your turn to enter the picture area!

Picture Time!

• When it is your turn, the graduate will be asked to come to a marked spot.

• The first picture will be taking by our photography team of you and your guests.

• Next we will take a picture of just you.

• The two pictures will be emailed to your school account. You will need to get them from your school email by June 30th when your RETSD account will be closed. (Tip: Make sure to take anything from the account you want to save before this date.)

• Make sure to get any shots you want before you come for your appointment! There will only be time for two photos on the day.

Once you are done with your pictures you will go through these doors!

Enjoy some music and scenery as you and your guests turn the corner at the library, as you wait for your turn to proceed to the stage.

Travel down this hallway to the stage.

• You may need to wait for your turn. Please keep social distancing by using the markers on the floor.

• Advance till it is your turn. There will be a person there to guide you.

• Once it is your turn, give your paper to the announcer so they can say your name as you go up to the stage.

• Climb the stairs (right side) onto the stage.

• An administrator will be there to greet you. They can not shake hands or hand you anything.

• Take your folio from the stand.• Guests will be in front and can

take a quick picture if they like.

• Take your tassel and place it to the right.

• Walk down the stairs to the left.

Your grad picture will be projected on a screen beside the stage for your guests to enjoy!

Next you will travel through these doors to the Hallway.

There will be a table with a gift for you on it from KEC. Please take one as you pass.

There will be a table here with all of your official graduating documents on it.

Pick up the package with your name on it.

DO NOT FORGET TO PICK UP YOUR PACKAGE.

A person will be here to help you if needed.

Proceed down the hallway, observing social distancing rules.

If there are some people at the next station, please use the designated spots to wait your turn.

Gown Drop Off:

• Take off your gown. (Hopefully you read this and realized that you should be wearing clothes underneath your gown!)

• Fold your gown in half and place in the cardboard box. Try not to let your hands touch the box or the other gowns.

• The people at this station will ask for your name so it can be ticked off the list of returned gowns.

You and your guests will walk down the ISPL hallway.

Go through these doors as a graduate of

Say “Good-bye!” to this chapter of your life.

Exit

• These will be the doors you exit from.

• Make your way back to the student parking lot.

• Please make sure to leave the student parking lot when you are done so that we can continue to follow the social distancing rules the government has provided us with.
