COOPACA company : Collection and storage of cereals, oilseeds, animal nutrition. Distribution of pesticides, seeds, fertilizers, hardware, gardening. Supervision and control of a new five cells silo storage (4000 t). Cooperative COOPACA, adherent UCAL (Union of Agricultural Cooperatives in the Allier) acts as a true breadbasket of the Allier. In 2010, as part of the grain business, the collection increased by 26% compared to (2008-2009) being placed at 150,000 t, with excellent yields on almost all types of soils and all cultures. Wheat and maize account for 80% of the collection, other grains remained stable (6% for barley, 7% for rapeseed, 3% for rye and triticale, sunflower 2% and 1% for the various small crops (sorghum, flax, buckwheat, soybeans). The feed with over 30,000 T represents a significant proportion of COOPACA outlets, together with milling (34%), followed by starch (24%) and crushing (8%). General Cooperative COOPACA is located at Trestles in Allier since 1936 and currently employs 65 people. The site generates a turnover of 45M. In late 2010, the site is looking for a software solution which allows not only automated management of a new silo (5 storage cells 4000 t - control and supervision) but also of a handling (200 t/h), a cleaning mill, and a tower dryer. The solution had to meet at least four initial expectations: • Supervision made from a non-proprietary software • Taking into account the fast operating personnel • Ability to modify the operation • Commissioning within a short time The choice was subsequently focused on COOX MESbox SILO Module. With MESbox SILO, a module of COOX software solution from ORDINAL Software, the COOPACA cooperative, adopts a powerful tool for the control and management of one of their new silo. The application was carried out by the specialist PEINTAMELEC Engineering, Software ORDINAL certified partner. With over 400 employees spread over 7 industrial sites in France and Romania, the group PEINTAMELEC is specialized since over 40 years in the design and manufacture of industrial equipment of high technology.

The site generates a turnover of € 45M. In late 2010, the site is looking for a software solution which allows not only automated management of a new silo (5 storage cells 4000 t - control and supervision) but also of a handling (200 t/h), a cleaning mill, and a tower dryer.

The solution had to meet at least four initial expectations:

• Supervision made from a non-proprietary software

• Taking into account the fast operating personnel

• Ability to modify the operation • Commissioning within a short time

The choice was subsequently focused on COOX MESbox SILO Module.

COOX MESbox SILO application Supervision and control and monitoring of a grain silo are essential elements of productivity and security.

COOX MESbox SILO software implementation is extremely, including both the automation and supervision parts. Thus, it avoids programming and reduces the setup time and development facilities: management features and driving equipment of a silo are native: carrier, valves, elevators, filtration , drying ...

Rapid mastery of the solution Despite the constraints of the project (short setup times), and the context of a reduced experience of system integrator at that time, the team was able to easily take in hand the solution, thanks including integrated automation and supervision business functions.

The definition of the operation was facilitated and implementation was achieved in record time.

The hardware architecture The application manages 360 digital I/O and 8 analog I/O and is connected to a PLC SCHNEIDER Premium, coupled Ethernet.

It consists of two items: a main station and a remote one with a network of field-type ASI position.

A simplified driving On-site, the grip of the silo has been made in a few days on a new computer install, with a new team of drivers.

Rapid return on investment Whether the side of the integrator or the end user, COOX MESbox SILO has achieved an automated computerized system providing all the basic features by freeing a definition of needs, which can sometimes be lengthy or costly. The grip and commissioning have been greatly facilitated.
