Lancaster Road Lancaster Road Homemaker Club met Oct 3, 2018.

There were 13 members in attendance. The plans for

Homemaker week were outlined. Members

volunteered to make finger foods for the Tasting party.

Additionally, members were encouraged to keep track

of their volunteer hours. And, reminded to get their

membership dues and enrollment forms turned in

before Nov. 20.

Before sharing lunch together, our recreation

committee chairperson, Mary Lee Furr, challenged us

with a thought provoking word search.

We enjoyed a potluck at the Extension Office followed

by a lesson on Wardrobe Trends presented by Suzette

Keffer.

Our next meeting will be Nov 7. We will be sharing

pizza at the Boyle Co Extension office.

“Boyle County Judge Executive Harold McKinney

presents a proclamation declaring Oct. 14 - 20, 2018,

as Official Homemakers Week in Kentucky. Receiving

the proclamation are Homemakers Rita Bloom and

Thelma Mills.”

Perryville Happy Fall! Greetings from the Perryville Club!! Our

October meeting was held October 10th at the

Extension Office and we had one new member to join!

Yeah!!

Vice President Janice Purdy conducted the meeting

and Mildred Ellis presented the lesson on Wardrobe

Trends. We got volunteer readers for our Reading

Program at Perryville Elementary School. We'll be

reading once a month to the kindergarten, first grade, and special education classes. We're planning a trip to

Bread of Life Cafe in Liberty, KY where we'll have

lunch, take a tour of their campus, and deliver our

donations to their Galilean Home.

Our next meeting is November 14 at 11:00 at Southern

Plate Catering, 126 Church St. in Danville.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Wilderness Trail

Wilderness Trail held its October meeting on October

4 at the Extension Office. Hostess was Marian

Gibson. We were happy to welcome a new member,

Georgia Long. Our main business of the meeting was

to make our plans for the Homemakers Week

activities. We also encouraged our members to keep

track of their volunteer hours. Five of our members

attended the Tasting Party and Silent Auction on

October 15.

REPORT FROM THE

CHARITIES COMMITTEE

The Charities Committee thanks all Boyle County

Homemakers who submitted recommendations for

recipients for donations from the Jane Gessaman

Memorial Fund. Our committee met with

representatives from seven different charities. All

were worthy, and it was difficult to make choices.

In the end, this is how we allocated the $2000 in this

year's fund: $500 each to Happy Feet, the Gladys

Project, and Shepherd's House; $200 each to the

Forkland Community Center and Boy Scout Troop 27;

$100 to Celebrate Recovery. Pictures of the

presentations were printed in the October 17 edition of

the Advocate-Messenger, with the headline,

"Homemakers Making a Difference." These donations

are one BIG way that we DO make a difference!

The Charity Committee members who have served 2

years are now ready to roll off. Each club needs to find

one new representative to serve on this committee for

the coming year. Everyone start thinking about new

charities to recommend for donation.

UPCOMING CRAFT CLASSES

We've got some exciting classes planned for

November and December. Register early because

class sizes are limited. If you find you cannot attend

after registering, please call back to cancel so

someone else can take your spot. Also, when you

register, ask if there are supplies the student needs to

bring.
