Family and Child Welfare Services – Integrated Family Services

Service Description

{ To provide a spectrum of services to address the multifarious needs of individuals and

families of specific localities. With the guiding principles of accessibility, early

identification, integration and partnership, the IFSCs are set up to support and

strengthen individuals and families through delivering of services under the direction of

'child-centred, family-focused and community-based.'

{ An IFSC consists of three major components, namely family resource unit, family

support unit and family counselling unit.

Family and Child Welfare Services – Neighbourhood Support Child Care Project

Service Description

{ To provide flexible form of child care service for parents who are in need of childcare

service owing to long, irregular working hours and to promote community

participation and mutual help in the neighbourhood. There are two service components

Service of Young People – Integrated Children and Youth Services Centre (ICYSCs)

Service Description

{ To provide a wide range of services under one management to meet the multifarious

needs of children and youth aged 6-24. ICYSCs provide four core programmes, i.e.

guidance and counselling, supportive service for young people in disadvantaged

circumstances, socialisation programmes and development of social responsibility and

competence. Non-core programmes such as drop-in service, interest groups, summer

Service of Young People – After School Care Programme (ASCP)

Service Description

{ For children aged between 6 to 12, if parents are unable to take care of them temporarily

because of work or other reasons, they may consider using the services of the After

School Care Programme (ASCP). Services provided include homework guidance,

parent guidance and education, skill learning and other social activities. ASCP is

operated by non-governmental organisations (NGOs) on a self-financing and

fee-charging basis.
