Activity6:.

The objectives of Activity 6, are to:Ø Coordinate Activities & Facilitate communication between partners within

and across ActivitiesØ Manage and monitor the progress of the project ensuring that the project

meets its objectives within the time (and budget) limits

Ø Work closely with Activity 5 to Link MEDCIS to other internationaland national projects, stakeholders – national authorities andpolicy leads for MSFD

Ø Communicate and outreach Project results and scientific developments on alllevels of society: policy, public as well as scientific community (in tandemwith Activity 5)

Task6.1:Administration

• monitor the activities and progress of the work• integration among and within the Activities• assure the conformity to the DoW with special attention to the timeline and

quality of deliverables• communication with the Commission on technical, administrative and

financial matters• arrange and facilitate the SC and AB meetings, and implement their

decisions.

Task 6.2: Scientific coordinationTask leader: HCMR (K. Pagou)

1) Steering Committee (SC):SC = the Coordinator as chairperson, the Project Manager, and the eight (8)Activities LeadersThe SC will meet on a frequent basis at months 1, 6, 12, 16 and 202) Advisory Board (AB):AB = A panel of experts (scientists and end users that will be key stakeholders of theproject’s scientific results): coordinators of the EMODnet -MEDSEA CheckPointproject, representatives from the UNEP/MAP, RAC-SPA, OSPAR, HELCOM, GFCMCommissions, the JRC-MCC and the EEA.

3) External experts and observers:NGOs (as WWF.GR), projects under the same Call and INFO/RAC are invited to themeetings to provide scientific guidance and bring along their experience on similarprojects.

Ø Related activities (web site, dissemination, engagement of stakeholders andpolicy makers, position paper) will be supervised and supported by Activity 6, inclose collaboration with Activity 5.

Ø During the project and afterwards, the management office and the Activityleaders will present the outcomes to all major scientific and policy fora(particularly those related to the activities of the DG ENV, as are PCG meetings,conferences, working groups), as well as those of UNEP/MAP.

FINANCIALGuidelines

• Budget transfers between budget categories (Personnel, Travel & subsistence,Equipment, Sub-contracting, Other direct costs) are limited to 10% of theamount of each budget category for which the transfer is intended and withoutexceeding the total eligible costs provided that this doesn’t affect theimplementation of the action.

This adjustment does not require an amendment of the Agreement, yet it isstrongly recommended to inform our financial officer in EC even for budgetchanges of less than 10% in advance.Remember it takes time to get an approval from EC which might requireclarifications

• Please inform us the soonest possible on any budget changes/request you wishto make, in order to forward them to EC (already have 1 such request)
