(COPAR)

AREA INSPECTION/OCULAR VISIT

May 10, 2013

Plan of having an adopted community was discussed and presented to the Davao City Health office. Areas presented to them as discussed during our meeting with the COPAR team were barangays in Toril district

which includes Sirawan, Catigan, and Binugao. Marahan in Calinan district was also nominated as probable area fo

COPAR adoption.

The City Health Office dissed out Sirawan and Binugao saying that these areas were already taken by otherinstitutions.

Scheduled an ocular survey/visit to areas in Barangay Catigan (Toril District), and in Marahan (Brgy Marilog, CalinaDistrict) on May 15, 2013.

May 14, 2013

Gave communication letters to the barangay captains for the said visit. Jesus Mansilagan, the barangay captain of Catigan Leonilo Suyko, the barangay captain of Marilog, where Sitio Marahan is situated.

May 15, 2013 Left AdDU around 7:30am and arrived around 9:00am in Sitio Lomondao, where the barangay hall of BarangayMarilog is situated.

We were met by Kagawad JEONELLA OMANAN and Ms. TESSIE SUMANDAY, a PWD assigned in the barangay hall(since wheelchairs were also distributed that moment as part of our advocacy/project in the School of Nursing, th

the American Wheelchair Mission).

We left the barangay hall and took us around 30 minutes to reach Sitio Marahan. We then proceeded to theoutskirts of the highway as suggested by the kagawad.

We reached Sitio Matigsalog (about 15 minutes) and talked to some people in the area. We then proceeded to Sitio Namnam (about 15 to 20 minutes from Sitio Matigsalog). In Sitio Namnam, We met the Ex-kagawad of Barangay Marilog, Mr. ERNESTO MATALAM (09265154400). He

showed us around just a few steps from our drop-off and also met Mrs. JONA CONDEMNA.

Mrs. JONA CONDEMNA is the owner of the house where students will be accommodated should the area will bechosen as the adopted community.

Around 11:30am, left Sito Namnam, and reached barangay Marilog around 12:00nn and bid dropped-off kagawadOmanan and Ms. Sumanday.

Proceeded to Calinan Proper for Lunch. 1:00pm, left Calinan and proceeded to Barangay Catigan in Toril. Toril proper is around 30-45 minute ride from

downtown Davao. Toril proper to Barangay Catigan is about 15 to 30 minute ride.

Reached Barangay Catigan around 2:00pm and was able to meet with the barangay captain, Mr. JESUSMANSILAGAN.

We then were accompanied by Ms. LENI DUMLAO (sister of the brgy captain). We met the Tribal Chieftain - DATULAWRENCE BAYOCBOC (09103376743), and discussed matters pertaining COPAR and the possibility of the

adoption. We then proceeded to Sitio Milagrosa (purok 6) where we met the Purok Leader - Mr. WILBERTO PEOLIO, also

discussed the reason for such visit.

Left Barangay Catigan around 3:00pm and arrived AdDU at 4:00pm.
