He also developed a systems for organizing books so that people could find what they were looking for.

Fiction = NOT TRUE. It is make believe.

Nonfiction = TRUE. It is real (people, places, events and things).


Fiction = NOT true Storybooks, novels,

science fiction, mysteries

Alphabetical order by the authors last name

You can find all books by one author in one place.


Nonfiction = true Grouped by subject

Each subject has a number between 000-999

There are 10 main subjects (classes).

There are 10 subdivisions for each subject (class).
