Donotuseanyformofgluetofixthescrewsonthebatteryclip.Thesolventsinthegluemaycausedamagetothebatterycasing.

BatteryBeforeattachingorremovingthebatterymakesureyourradioisturnedoffbyturningthepower/volumeknoballthewaycounter-clockwise.

Installation

Makesurethebatteryisalignedinparallelwiththeradiobodywiththeloweredgeofthebatteryabout1-2cmbelowtheedgeoftheradio.Oncealignedwiththeguide-rails,slidethebatteryupward

Batteryshouldbefullychargedbeforeinitialuse.Optimumbatteryefficiencywillbeachievedafterthethreefullbatterychargeanddischargecycles.

Followthesestepstohookupandusethecharger:1. PlugtheDCconnectorofthepoweradaptorintothechargerbase.2. PlugtheACconnectorofthepoweradaptorintoamainACwalloutlet.3. Placetheradiointhechargingslotonthecharger.4. Makesuretheradio ismakingcontactwiththecharger.WhentheredLEDcomeson

yourradio,pleaseconsiderpurchasinganewbattery.• Batteryperformancewillbereducedintemperaturesbelowfreezing.Whenworkingin

coldenvironments,keepasparebatteryonyou.Preferablyinsideyourjacketorinasimilarlocationinordertokeepthebatterywarm.

• Dustcaninterferewiththecontactsonthebattery.Ifnecessarywipethecontactswithacleanclothtoensurepropercontactwithradioandcharger.Ifyourbatteryhasbecomewet,removeitfromtheradio,wipeitdrywithatowelandputitinaplasticbagwithahandfulofdryrice.Tiethebagupandletitsitovernight.Thericewillabsorbanyremainingmoistureinthebattery.Thismethodisonlyeffectiveagainstminorsplashes(lightrainforinstance).Asoakedradiomayverywellbebeyondrepair.

StoragePartiallychargeyourbatterybeforelong-termstorageinordertopreventdamagefromover-discharge.Whileleadacidmustalwaysbekeptatfullchargeduringstorage,thisradiousesalithium-basedbatteryandshouldbestoredatarounda40percentcharge.Thislevelminimizesage-relatedcapacitylosswhilekeepingthebatteryinoperatingconditionandallowingself-discharge.
