AntennaThistransceiverisfittedwithaMaleSMAconnector.Tomountyourantenna(FemaleSMAconnector),alignthetwoconnectorsandturnclockwiseuntilitstops.
• Donotover-tightenyourantennatoavoiddamagetotheconnectors.• Wheninstallingtheantenna,don'tgripitbythetop.Gripbythebaseandturn.• Ifyouuseanexternalantenna,makesuretheSWR isabout1.5:1orlowertoavoid
damagetothetransceiver.• Donotholdtheantennawithyourhandwhiletransmitting.• Nevertransmitwithoutanantenna.

Donotuseanyformofgluetofixthescrewsonthebatteryclip.Thesolventsinthegluemaycausedamagetothebatterycasing.
BatteryBeforeattachingorremovingthebatterymakesureyourradioisturnedoffbyturningthepower/volumeknoballthewaycounter-clockwise.
Installation
Makesurethebatteryisalignedinparallelwiththeradiobodywiththeloweredgeofthebatteryabout1-2cmbelowtheedgeoftheradio.Oncealignedwiththeguide-rails,slidethebatteryupward

• Dustcaninterferewiththecontactsonthebattery.Ifnecessarywipethecontactswithacleanclothtoensurepropercontactwithradioandcharger.Ifyourbatteryhasbecomewet,removeitfromtheradio,wipeitdrywithatowelandputitinaplasticbagwithahandfulofdryrice.Tiethebagupandletitsitovernight.Thericewillabsorbanyremainingmoistureinthebattery.Thismethodisonlyeffectiveagainstminorsplashes(lightrainforinstance).Asoakedradiomayverywellbebeyondrepair.
StoragePartiallychargeyourbatterybeforelong-termstorageinordertopreventdamagefromover-discharge.Whileleadacidmustalwaysbekeptatfullchargeduringstorage,thisradiousesalithium-basedbatteryandshouldbestoredatarounda40percentcharge.Thislevelminimizesage-relatedcapacitylosswhilekeepingthebatteryinoperatingconditionandallowingself-discharge.

ToaddyourlocalNOAAWeatherchannelanewscanningchannel,startbyswitchingyourradiotoFrequency(VFO)modebyturningtheradioOFF,thenPressandHold buttonwhilepoweringON.SelectyourdesiredNOAAfrequency(above)usingthenumericalkeypad.
