Andhra Pradesh (Hyderabad) Andhra Pradesh is situated on the southeastern coast of India and it isthe 7th largest state in India. The state was earlier divided into twoparts, one of which became Telangana. Hyderabad is a shared capitalbetween Telangana and Andra Pradesh at the moment. The largestcity in the state is Visakhapatnam which is popularly known as thefinancial capital of the state.This state is famous for its rich cultural heritage and it has variousreligious pilgrim destinations like Srisailam temple, Tirumala temple,Shahi Jamia masjid, Nagarjuna Konda, Tirupathi, etc. The TirumalaVenkateswara Temple which is located in Tirupati has over 18.25million visitors every year and it has become one of the most visitedreligious sites in the world. Telugu is the native language spoken inthe state which was referred as 'Italian of the east' by the Britishers inthe colonial period. This state also has a long coastline which givesbirth to several beaches. Kuchipudi is the classical dance form whichhas been a part of the culture since the 10th century.The state is blessed with beaches, hills, caves, forests, temples,wildlife, etc. It is referred as the Koh-i-noor of India. Lambasingi, avillage in Vishakhapatnam is known as the Kashmir of South Indiabecause of the snowfall in the region due to its location at a high sealevel. Arunachal Pradesh (Itanagar) Arunachal Pradesh is the Nature's Paradise and the serene landscapeof the region can leave you mesmerized. It is the largest north easternstate and the state is covered with evergreen forest. The capital of thestate is Itanagar.The state inhabits 26 major tribes and more than 100 sub-tribes. Alsoknown as the land of the rising sun, through which Brahmaputra riverflows. The area is popular for its exquisite landscape, quaint Tibetanculture and massive water resources. The state is home to manyTibetan refugees.Tawang monastery which is 400 years old is situated here which is thesecond largest Buddhist monastery. Bihar is the land of Bodhgaya, Rajgir, Vaishali, and Nalanda. It is aneastern Indian state which has a diverse climate. Patna is the capitalof Bihar. It is one of the oldest inhabited places on earth which datesback to 3000 years. Hindi, Bhojpuri, and Urdu are spoken in thisregion.Mithali painting is a popular art form of painting in this state. This placehas religious significance for Hindu pilgrims as Goddess Sita isbelieved to be born in Sitamarhi district of Bihar. Chhattisgarh (Raipur) Chhattisgarh is located in the central part of India and it has historicalsignificance, exquisite wild life, Sanctuaries, National parks, cavern,waterfalls, and much more. Haryana means 'the adobe of God' and it was the epicenter of Hinduepic of Mahabharata. Both Indraprastha and Kurukshetra are locatedhere. Himachal Pradesh (Shimla) Himachal Pradesh is a northern Indian state which is located theregion of Himalayas. Thus, the state comprises of hills, valleys,mountains, etc. It is known as Dev Bhoomi which means Land ofgods.The area is blessed with the tranquil beauty of mother earth. It hasscenic landscape and breath-taking natural beauty. It also has strongTibetan presence as the HH Dalai Lama stays in Dharamsala which isin Himachal Pradesh.This place is a popular tourist destination which has a peaceful vibe toit. You can indulge yourself into many mountain activities like biking,trekking, rock climbing, paragliding, etc. It is the land of deities andevery village has its own god and goddess which people worship. Jammu & Kashmir (Srinagar, Jammu) Jammu and Kashmir is a northernmost Indian state which is located inthe Himalayas. The area is mostly covered with mountains. This statehas some of the highest mountain peaks currently existing in theworld. It is globally known as 'India's Switzerland' as it is a paradise interms of beauty of nature.The view and landscape are hypnotizing and enticing. Jharkhand (Ranchi) Jharkhand was originally a part of Bihar which was later establishedas an individual state on 15th November 2000. Ranchi is the capital ofthe state. Some languages which are spoken here are Hindi, Santhali,Urdu, Bengali and English. It is known as the steel state. It is one ofthe richest mineral zones and it provides a huge percentage of India'sminerals and coal reserves.Many minerals are found here like coal, copper ore, uranium, granite,limestone, graphite, magnetite, dolomite, silver, iron ore and the list islong. Madhya Pradesh (Bhopal) Madhya Pradesh is a Central Indian state which is also popularlyknown as the Heart of India due to its geographical location. Bhopal isthe capital of this state. Hindi is the official language here. It is thesecond largest state in the country.
